About this listen
One night—a single moment—cost me everything.
My body, broken beyond repair. The boy I’d thought was my forever. The life I’d always dreamt of.
Now, Holt’s back. And he’s no longer a boy, but a man with shadows in his eyes and demons haunting him.
He says he’s here to make things right. To get back a little bit of all we’ve lost. And he doesn’t show any signs of leaving the small town that has been my refuge.
As stolen moments turn to days, Holt’s around every corner. With his burning stare and lingering touches. Before long, my walls come crashing down, and I’m just hoping that taking this second chance isn’t as reckless as it feels.
But not everyone is happy that Holt has returned. As tragedy strikes again, I’m the one left in the crosshairs. And Holt might not be able to save me this time....

Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres, and Whispers of You delivered everything I love about it the, emotion, tension, and a love story that kept me fully invested. Catherine truly knows how to write compelling characters and heart tugging moments! I loved watching Holt and Wren find their way back to each other. Their reconnection felt natural and emotional, filled with just the right amount of longing and healing. The chemistry between them was palpable, and their journey was beautifully layered with both tenderness and grit. One of my favorite aspects was how close Wren remained with Holt’s family—it added such depth to her character and made their bond feel even more rooted. That sense of connection, of found family and forgiveness, really stood out to me. The suspense element kept the story moving at a great pace, with just enough twists to keep me guessing but never pulling focus away from the romance. Oh and p.s hey calls her CRICKET 🥹🥹
The narrators did such a great job bringing Holt and Wren to life. Their performances made the chemistry between the characters even more real, and I was completely drawn into their story. You could really feel every emotional beat, from the heartbreak to the hope.
