Extended Advertisement Posing as a Book
I have found it very difficult to get through this book as at least the first half poses as an extended advertisement for a self talk app. It really labours the positive impacts of self talk but doesn’t get into the nitty gritty of how to actually construct it. I’ll amend my review if it improves but at present I would not recommend.

This AudioBook is a Sales Pitch
I love this book! It has completely changed my life! I own it in paper back and my biggest complaint about this audio version is that they have taken out more than half of the example from the original book so they can sell you a subscription service to an app that gives you examples! It is total B.S. now. Buy a paper copy instead and you’ll get a lot more out of it. Make recordings of the self talk examples that he has in there and you’ll be able to change your life

It's just a long infommercial for the app
Some good information, nothing new except the author creates categories which are subjective in my view. However, as others have noted (I should have believed them) this book is just a long advertisement for their app/website where they gather all of your contact information and offer a free thirty day subscription without telling you what it will cost going forward or even much of what it offers. I guess you find that out after you sign up and give them your credit card info. Reviews, many of them, note that it can be very difficult to get them to respond when you ask to cancel and many have stated that they were charged for months while asking to cancel. I'm surprised that Audible even sells this sham.

Here’s A User Friendly Analysis
Why over all 5 stars?
- because the content shows you and proves why and how to talk to yourself for instantly reframing your ideas and mood into a effective opportunity to feel really good and because of this, to do really good quickly and fairly easily.
Why 4 stars on performance?
- because the voice is amazing… truly exceptional voice and vibe with awesome nuances for this type of book… but why not 5 stars? Because when it comes time to use the self talk… there is no distinguishing features and it blends in with the rest of the story and the obnoxiously overt sales pitch for the books support tool, a app that has unethical customer service slow responses while they charge your card a extra couple months at a time.
Why 2 stars on story?
-essentially the book is extremely too long, doesn’t not clearly explain the differences between hypnosis and affirmations verse self talk and that eludes to a bias and negative stance towards these other tools
My take over all. This is a essential skill, that trumps all other skills. I’ve used this prior to the book to do some exceptional things, but mostly felt bad for talking to myself like a was another person. I mean full out hard core scared straight type of self talk… or selling myself on something so that I would be sold in self persuasion which means full out self believe and top of the line action taking.
When I’ve self talked… and done it well… I’m essentially invincible. Why? Because I will now avoid any and all sand traps, if I find myself in one… I’ll laugh, feel hella funny and see how this makes the event even better and even more of awesome winning story.
I’ve used self talk for physical self defense, for sales and business, for dating… and for hiking or physical fitness.
I’ve not used it for eating, meditation, or other things, but I will now.
Advice to the author…
Slim up your book, less filler, get to the pint quicker, be more smooth with the app sales pitch, more ethical, move loving on that sales pitch… also you must not rob people of $20 a month, rather provide excellent customer service and your making yourself and your system look look like evil crap as your robbing people rather then serving people. Remember dear author… your a PhD, and for those of us in the know… it often means “I’m scared of life, and like to hide in school, I liked school as a child and never want to leave this cocoon”.
Because many of us see PhD’s like this… it’s especially egregious to have a high price app and then keep charging when people cancel…
The book is a long sales pitch for the app. I can weed thru this because the effects, results are so worth it. But where is the love??? You make sales pitches look bad when they can be clean, fun and a beautiful addition to your lives valuable work.
I respect you immensely for the great effort and spectacular results of this subject of study. The author is correct when he says the whole world would change if this was trained into school and any person any where… he is correct.
This is why the reviews are 5 star for over all but much less for the story and performances part.
We all admire and appreciate this work, and we all hate the way the you’ve gone about weaving the sales work and extra pages of set up.
I’m all for repetition and get it’s value… but for this to work… you can have filler info or spend too much time in the set up.
I also found it hard to pay attention due to that. I am a strong focuser so this surprised me and I found myself just wanting the physical book so I can scan and move on.
Imo here’s what different from hypnosis and affirmations, and self talk.
Self talk is speaking to yourself like your a new whole other all good person. You stop saying bad things, and you start saying good things in both sentences and paragraphs in a coherent way.
Affirmations are sentences that are not story like. Often well separated. And not connected to the current moment typically where as self talk is 100% related to right now. Like a friend saying all good things to you at the moment you were feeling down yet open to feeling better.
Hypnosis can be like affirmations however your mind is deeply open due to being in a altered state, often with deeper nlp techniques woven in to do surgical strikes of change, and can allow profound change and healings in just one session sometimes. The book “healing beyond pills and potions”. By a MD is a great hypnosis book so you can know it’s truest potential. I’ve applied it to some of my clients and gotten top healing in just one session, but the client needs to be ultra hungry for the healing… otherwise it’s required to do 2-10 sessions so to speak.
Self talk is a profound tool and I recommend it intrinsically.

Not enough examples of self talk
I gave this book 3* because it didn't give many examples of self talk . It kept advertising the self talk app which is free for 30 days and then it charges $20. It felt forced upon you to get the app.
Narator was very good and clear though.

Fantastic
I really liked the easy flow of this book.
It was easy to understand and the instructions were very clear.
I would highly recommend to those want more from their life and those serious about self growth and self development.
Great work👍

A good insight
Good book with lots of positive advice, but likes to mention the app too many times in my opinion.

Fantastic
If you ask yourself whether to get this audiobook or not, I would recommend you do.
I also loved the interview with the author in between.

Too many upsells to the premium app
Too many mentions of the premium app. Once would be fine, but feels like this audiobook is just an initial offer to get readers to buy the premium app at a monthly subscription.
