Publisher's Summary

Breaking up in normal circumstances is hard enough. If you throw a narcissist into the equation, it makes it all the more difficult. Not only are you left heartbroken from the separation, but the actions and behaviors of the narcissist post-break-up are nothing short of cruel, confusing, and downright crazymaking. You feel like your world has ended and you don’t know how to rebuild it.

In this short audiobook, I want to use my own experience with a narcissist to highlight and outline the following for you:

  • discarding, and why the narcissist does this. This is a cruel tactic used by the narcissist to either punish you or because you have nothing left to give them.
  • what a narcissist does at the end of a relationship. Whilst all narcissists are different, you can count on one thing being consistent: their behavior.
  • how the narc feels and deals with the break-up.
  • the toxic narcissistic relationship pattern, so you can avoid being sucked into it once more.

If you're looking to listen to this audiobook, you're likely heartbroken and looking for some guidance, support, or understanding. As someone who has been through the hell of a narcissistic relationship, I can offer you all three, and I hope this audiobook can help you make sense of this heartbreaking time.

Short on time, long on value!

This book, in just over an hour, covered so many key points about ending a relationship with a person inflicted with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). You could tell that the author has survived a toxic relationship because it seemed as though she were telling my own story. Knowing what to expect, after breaking things off, with a person with NPD supplies some of the necessary tools needed to survive the breakup, even if you're the one that walked away. The narrator was very easy to listen to. she spoke with a heartfelt inflection in all the right places and she emoted perfectly, through the entire book. I found myself wanting even more. I plan on listening to this book once more today, to make sure I've got a firm hold on every concept, though most are very simplistic. It's always a boost to know that others have survived what I'm currently going through (A very nasty discard from an extremely toxic, 19 year relationship/marriage). I can't wait to feel myself again! Even though I'll never be whom I once was, I feel I'll know whom I really am much better!

A good start for the end

This book isn't very deep but I feel it is a good quick read into understanding what is going on and what is to be expected at the end of a relationship with a narcissist.

informative

Very informative. Not too deep but deep enough to explain and prepare you for deeper analytical books. I was constantly told I was the narc and this helped me begin to understand the abuse I had went through. I thought I was completely screwed up. convinced even and trying to fix myself to no avail. I'm glad I found this.

A hard look into the undeniable truth.

my ex literally did everything labeled in this book I've been going through this Rollercoaster for so long.. I remember back in November 2018 where we had spent a beautiful night together & then she literally went awol for a month & a half leaving me feeling like I've never felt... & in my case its hard because we have a 4yr old daughter that im not allowed to see unless I take her to court because I apparently hit my daughter & im a bad role model & all these accusations literally came as a shock to me because I had no clue wtf she was even talking about ... ive been so confused & this book was a total mind blow & now I feel like I'm better prepared for the future.

Horrible! Read if you want to become a narcissist!

This is such a dangerous book. It takes everything the "narcissist" does and tells you to do it right back with the excuse that your reason is valid. It's not valid. It is never okay to treat anyone with such disregard including a narcissistic person. In turn, this book makes YOU a narcissist, which IS a known danger of the empath/narcissist relationship. There are better books on how to deal with those who lack empathy and remorse and it is NOT to become that way yourself. Not to mention it will tear your soul apart to treat anyone the way you were treated. It can also be super dangerous to treat the person the way they treated you. They most often will retaliate and try to hurt you! Stay true to your heart and be you. Just be smarter about it. But this author became a narcissist and a good one and teaches you how to be one too. Also, according to this authors definitions, everyone would be a narcissist. This book could cause a lot more confusion due to clear bias.

scarily accurate - exact order of life with my ex

clear desriptions of Narccisists behaviour and the patterns in relationships..each step triggered memories in correct order of relationship. The realisation it was all fake, confirms i wasnt crazy, or wrong. i was a shell of myself because of him... now he is repeating the pattern with a new source.. my ex never loved me was painful to hear but has finally given me closure. i am free, thankyou.
