Publisher's Summary

Four friends manuever through toxic and terrifc relationships and come to terms with their troublesome views about women.

Smart, successful, and sexy, Dorrian is a local club owner and promoter with serious commitment problems. He has dreams of one day putting a ring on the finger of a woman he deems worthy, but after years in the club business and countless interactions with the party-girl types, Dorrian finds himself wondering if there is truly anyone who can live up to his standards.

Ant, a certified thug gigolo, has a skewed view of the opposite sex, due in large part to his untrusting and unaffectionate mother. He often finds himself in need of women who can fill that void his mother left behind.

Roshon, an upwardly mobile professional, is a devoted friend and father to his seven-year-old son, RJ. Although he loves his son with all his being, the total opposite rings true for his baby's momma. Dina is the true definition of hoodrat, and she is determined to make sure she gets her share of Roshon's new success.

Carlos is a well-muscled womanizer who owns and operates his own barbershop. He is the proud father of four children, all by different women. He falls in love just as quick as he falls out of it.

Follow these four childhood friends as they navigate the sometimes treacherous, sometimes triumphant relationships with the women in their lives.

If you are over 26, this is not the book for you!

I gave three stars for performance, because the narrator was actually good. The story was not! Here are my issues:

The men in the story are all dogs. He has them treating us (black women) like poop on the street and also portraying our characters to be stupid and lack self esteem and drive. The one good guy out of the group gets with a white woman and she is basically praised throughout the book. I just didn’t like it. Maybe 10 years ago, I would’ve found this entertaining, but today, at 33, it kinda made me angry.

If you are a grown ahh woman, you will not enjoy this book!

REALLY?

This story was absolutely ridiculous....this was unrealistic foolishness! I see why the book was free on Audible....but, unfortunately I can’t get back the time I spent listening! Why on earth did the only decent brother run to another race for comfort....

Queen City

I love the fact that Charlotte was mentioned. I lived there for 16 years so Big Ups for that. And ATL my good old party spot so I can relate to this audio book.

I like everything about it even the narrators voice.

Garbage

This book had my attention until the author felt the need to belittle black women. There was no need for that. We should always be with who we are most comfortable with. However, degrading black women just because you prefer white women is disgusting. I'm totally turned off by this author and will not be supporting anything else.

Ummmmm....

For the most part the different storylines were entertaining. It was quite disappointing for the one decent blk man be with a white women. This book definitely portrays blk women in a negative distasteful light. Crazy, Hoes, Thirsty, Strippers, desperate, stupid, or retired Hoes, crack heads, horrible mothers, porn stars, etc. The white women was thick, model like, pretty, successful, his perfect savior. Typical lol. (exit soap box) Carry on.

THE ABILITY TO CHANGE AND LOVE

These friends were a mess. It was an okay listen. I'm a strike black love type of chic but it was still a good book. I couldn't stand Ant, Dorrian was my type of guy despite his whores ways. Rashon could have found a better mate and Carlos was a pompous a**hole!

Decent story

The story was interesting. The narrator wasn't horrible but I think I would've enjoyed the book more if it were read by a different narrator.
