Story
The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Story
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

When I first encountered Ford Donovan, I had no idea who he was...well, other than the obvious. Young, gorgeous, successful, smart. Did I mention young? If I did, it bears repeating. Ford Donovan was too young for me. Let’s back up to how it all started. My best friend decided I needed to start dating again. So, without my knowledge, she set up a profile for me on a popular dating site - one that invited men ages 21 to 27 to apply for a date.

Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? Though, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day, it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

Hate when it ends
- By Diana Thompson on 22-07-2020
Publisher's Summary
From number one New York Times best-selling author Vi Keeland comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.
I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.
While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.
Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were the owner would pay it and be none the wiser. Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window. Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.
Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happens in movies. You know the deal...your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity. His heated stare left me flush when I stepped off the elevator. Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all. Or so I thought.
Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition. The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d saw me vandalize his car. And now, he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.
There’s a fine line between love and hate - and we shouldn’t cross it. We shouldn’t - but straddling that line could be so much fun.

Love it!
I love this story! I needed something light but not a comedy. We Shouldn't fit the bill. I like that both characters acted like adults and didn't jump to conclusions at every turn.
There were some sad moments that the characters worked through individually and together. The secondary characters fit perfectly in the story. They add dimension and growth. I love, love the epilogue.
You can never go wrong with an audio book narrated by Sebastian York, Andi Arndt. They add to the enjoyment and understanding of the characters and story.
A must buy!

OH YES Ms KEELAND.. WE REALLY REALLY SHOULD
With the well trusted names of Vi Keeland, Sebastian York and Andi Arndt, it’s pretty much a guarantee that 1) you’re going to love the storyline, 2) it’s going to be compelling and 3) it’s going to be expertly brought to life by two gifted narrators.. and I’m happy to say all three of them spectacularly delivered with this audiobook.
It’s a very addictive enemies-lovers office romance between two co-workers up for the same position now their two companies have merged and there’s only room for one of them.. which could bring out the best, and/or the worst, from any of us.. and it certainly did with these two advertising enemies. However, after a very shaky start, they slowly learn to work together, trust one another, lower their defences and finally act on their fierce attraction for their nemesis. And, when their verbal sparring leads to heated looks, heavy breaths and sizzling chemistry.. there’s only one outcome.. ignition. Their angsty dual POV road to the HEA has a few complications, detours and pitfalls along the way.. some will snag them, trip them up or slice them open.. but, when the smoke from the battlefield finally clears, there remains two people very much in love.
Worth a credit? This was a very entertaining story from an auto download author and it was wonderfully acted out by two of my favorite narrators.. so a 5 star listen was virtually guaranteed.. and, I’m nodding my head enthusiastically, YES it’s definitely creditworthy.

Not for me
First off, the narrators are good and the story premise sounded fun with potential for conflicts that, if treated with some thought, could be interesting and engaging, but I couldn't finish it.
The "hero" is an asshole. He insults other men by calling them pussies, complains about women who only eat salads on dates (they should look like they only eat salad though), draws objectifying cartoons of women at work, dissmisses the company sensitivity training he still obviously needs and bullies and sexually harasses the heroine, who he is competing for a job with. (this within the first 1-2h of the book) After that I had enough, maybe he get's better later, but I don't have the patience for him. He has a god-son who is probably gonna be one of the parts of his life that make us like him, but that kid seems to be learning the tired dude-bro clichéd shit-attitude from the hero. I don't care how much you've been hurt by women, don't harass them in the workplace.
If you don't mind the guy being arrogant and displaying the lowkey aggressive sexism that is a real problem for women in the workplace this might be an entertaining and sexy/romantic few hours for you...otherwise don't bother.

Perfect narration for a perfectly written story.
I absolutely loved this story, office romance doesn’t get better than Analeise and Bennet! I captivated from the very start, laughing my head off to the very end. Vi Keeland never ceases to deliver on her stories.
This audiobook is one of my favourites and I’ve listened it three times already. Sebastian York and Andi Arnt are such a perfect duo and give an extra edge to the story, the narration is beyond perfect!!
I cannot recommend this enough!!

great listen
Another great read/listen from Vi Keeland along with wonderful narration by Seastian York and Andi Arndt...This combination doesn't disappoint and had me laughing out loud on many occasions with the storyline, storytelling and great banter between characters. I listened to this book in almost one sitting.

RIVALS BY DAY LOVERS BY NIGHT
Rivals by day lovers by night.
I love the cover of this book, its what drew me in.
I listened to this in audio, the narration really brought the characters, their word's, and their actions to life.
I laughed, swooned and was hooked on the story throughout.
This isn't your typical office romance. Analise and Bennett are fighting for the same job role now both of their companies have merged.
Two people who are attracted to each other two people wanting the same job, two people who find love in an unexpected race to success.
Loved it, We shouldn't is another story from Vi Keeland that I didn't want to end.
