Publisher's Summary

There's a reason We Are Legion (We Are Bob) was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. The first item on his to-do list: Spending his newfound windfall. On an urge to splurge, he signs up to have his head cryogenically preserved in case of death. Then he gets himself killed crossing the street. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself. Bob and his clones are on a mission to find new homes for humanity and boldly go where no Bob has gone before.

Dennis E. Taylor’s hilarious novel sets the stage for the magnificent performance of Ray Porter, who revels in the brave new world of corpsicles, artificial intelligence, interstellar space probes, and space colonization in tantalizing detail.

We Are Legion (We Are Bob) is the first installment in the blockbuster Audible Original Bobiverse series - which has sold more than one million copies.

Nice ideas well put together

A fun SF novel with neat ideas that rattle along at a great pace. Looking forward to.the next installments. The narrator too was brilliant apart from that one Aussie accent!

Hilariously serious, and truly exciting

First of all, props to Ray Porter, the narrator. He does an exquisite job with all the voices and subtleties between them (of which there are plenty) and did not disappoint me in my first audiobook.

I would like to recommend this book, and I will. Its complexity, depth, and explorations into the technical aspects of the narrative may turn some listeners away - however, if these things sound good to you, they will be, as they compliment the rest of the narrative and theme construction brilliantly. I won't say anything more for fear of spoiling, except that this book is a prime example of witty and intelligent writing in recent years.

Fascinating story, virtuosic performance

The story was over too soon, and I'll be getting the next episode asap. The performance was extraordinarily good - so many characters with distinctive and memorable voices. All the Bob's were subtly different, and the performer brought it all to life in the most compelling way. Bring on the next volume!

Good, but short

Really enjoyed this one. Well narrated and interesting story. My only criticism is its really short and doesn't really end.

A whole new sub-genre

Although the beginning is quite different to the bulk of the book and the rest of the series, this is a great kick off to the series. This seems to be a re-do of the audio by Ray Porter, fixes a couple of pronunciation errors of the previous version. Definitely a worthwhile book.

Fun and entertaining story

Really enjoyable book. Not perfect but worth the credit. Great performance too. Will most certainly be getting the sequel.

Simply excellent

I cannot think of anything I disliked about either the book or the narration which, is unusual for me as I am a hyper critical reader and listener.

Quite frankly the story is hugely entertaining and the narration, at least to my ear, beyond compare. For those of you fond of good science fiction coupled with wit and irony (lost on most populations) this is the audible book for you. Roll on the sequel - I cannot wait.
