About this listen

When Jake Boulder is asked to help investigate the murder of Kira Niemeyer, he soon finds himself tracking a serial killer who selects his next victim in a most unusual manner.

As the body count rises, Boulder has to work with the police to identify the killer before more lives are taken. What ensues is a twisted game of cat and mouse. Only Boulder or the Watcher can survive.

Good story kept me interested but the ending was poor, far too abrupt no tidying up with other characters. Definitely spoilt it for me and has put me off listening to this author again.

Ending too abrupt

The author is obviously a misogynist. His descriptions of women are all very negative and unpleasant.

Long and drawn out

I was intrigued by the story and the wonderful narration... right up the climax... and then the last line "The End" left me unsatisfied. To point where I actually said out loud, "Wait, what, that's it! Like a lover who reaches their own climax and then says "Well that's done", except that you're not. That's how I felt at the end of this book. To me there was a feeling of a deadline having to be met, rather than a nicely fleshed out ending. This author has not honoured the partnership between author and reader. Where is the falling action, where is the finish, the final details, or resolution. How about providing readers with a sense of closure. And perhaps it might have been the editors role to give the author a bit of nudge in this direction. Where is the last chapter, you know, the Epilogue? I usually love to read all the books a series. However, on this basis, I have chosen NOT to read the next book in this series, because as a reader I do not feel like I was invited to do so.
Would I recommend this one, well, I can only say, you've been warned, and so that's up to you.

I got bored and only listened to about half. I usually persist until the end, but I couldn’t with this one

It was disappointing based on the blurb
