About this listen

I've waited years for her to grow up. Now it's time. I won't be gentle and I won't be kind. I'm taking what is mine.

Kaylie: Wherever I went, I heard it: the sound of a purring motorcycle behind me. They never bothered me or said a word. But I knew they were there because of him. Devlin McRae, the head of the local MC. Being followed all the time like this was disconcerting. And lately, the bikes had been getting closer, less secretive, more obvious. What would I do if Devlin ever caught me?

Devlin: The first time I saw her, she was too young. I had to wait. I hated it, but I'd promised her mother I would wait for her to grow up. The sweet, little waitress from Mae's diner was going to be mine. She just didn't know it yet.

Contains mature themes.

What a great start to a new series. Love the characters they just draw you in…

Great start

It all just happened so fast like slow it down. One minute he was a stranger stalking her then she was his girlfriend? Bullsh*t.

Narrators were easy to listen to and you were able get a good sense and feel for the characters in the story line

As usual, Troy Duran's narration was next level. Tbh, it was probably the most redeeming feature of this book.

Plot holes and weak characters left me with more questions at the end, than when it began. Like, as if a mother agrees to just hand over her 18yo daughter to the President of a motorcycle club, just cos he... what? Carried the mother's groceries to her car a couple times? And the police backed down and behaved after the whole club showed up at the diner? Yeah, ok 🙄
I guess it would be hard to cram a decent story line into less than 3 hours, but surely it could have been better than this. I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn't.
