Publisher's Summary

Magic, romance, and adventure collide in Wandfasted, the irresistible prequel to The Black Witch.

When they painted Heretics on our barn and set fire to it, I thought that was the worst it could get.

Until they sent the dragons.

But they didn't count on us having dragons of our own. And they certainly didn't count on Her. Our Great Mage. The Bringer of Fire. The Storm of Death. The Crow Sorceress. Our Deliverance.

The Black Witch.

LOVE this book, but not the narrator

I so wanted to love this audio book, I have been anxiously awaiting it's release and sadly it's so disappointing. I absolutely love this novella and have read it multiple times, and The Black Witch audio book is possibly my favorite audio book release of last year. But this falls so short of the narration quality and elegance that makes The Black Witch so good. This recording is dramatically over acted and super screechy. I wasn't even able to finish the book it became so annoying to listen to. I highly recommend reading this novella, it is a wonderful prequel to The Black Witch. And DEFINITELY treat yourself to listening to Jill Whelans reading of The Black Witch, it is superb!!!

narrator is terrible.

I have been waiting on this one to be released as I loved the first one but this Narrator just ruins it. not even 30 mins in and not sure I can tolerate the rest. so disappointed.

This reader is horrible

Unsteady voice. Bad modulation. High pitched and screachy. Horrible change to other characters. Redo with Juia Whealen is called for. Please dont let this one read anything else....the only voice she knows is desperation.

The narrator was abysmal

The narrator sounded like she was giving her first book report in the fifth grade

much better

I found this novella to be quite satisfying and had to listen to almost all of it in one day; I couldn't stop listening! I was also pleasantly surprised by the narrator. After reading some of the negative reviews I was expecting to find the voice irritating and that was not my experience.
Spoiler Alert: Is there a missing chapter floating in cyberspace? Conversations with Jules Christian and the other main characters about Tesla's handfasting are missing!

One of my favorite short stories!

This story caught me off guard. It was pleasantly enticing and extremely enchanting throughout the entirety of its plot. Having also read the Black Witch, this story was even more emotionally engaging and more thrilling than its predecessor. I would even go so far as to say it is a better story than the Black Witch was. I would even recommend listening to this book before you start the Black Witch. I am dying for more!

The narration was fabulous and I loved all but one of Jesse’s voices (I didn’t care for Ren’s squeaky voice) but understood the inflection. I was immediately attached to several characters (no spoilers). And I can’t wait to listen to more Jesse Vilinsky.

I cannot reinforce more, how much I am endearingly in love with this novel and how much I’m itching for more by Lauri Forest. If you’re into the Black Witch, fantasy, reality, struggle, strife and love; you will most definitely enjoy this book. Now hurry up and listen!

Great book horrible narrator.

I’ve read the other books in the series, and the books are awesome. It’s taken me several tries to listen to this book, because the narrators voice is high and squeaky, and VERY difficult to listen to.

Not just for teens!

These books are a fun ride! I didn’t enjoy the narrator as much but the story carried itself along. I wish it were longer! Look forward to the next in the journey of Tesla & her new husband.

I liked the narrator

The story fell short. I was disappointed in the ending because it did not feel like the story had fully developed. I guess this is why it’s a
Book 0.5 in the series. I don’t think I’m a fan of a .5 book if this is what you get. Nevertheless, I like the setting and will continue on with the next in the series. I hope the next book will be stronger.

loved the story not so much the narrator

this series is one of my favorites, unfortunately the narrator can get annoying. she over does her acting of every character and I feel that it takes away from the story instead of pulling me in. It reads more like a play rather then telling a story or at least that's how she makes it seem. still I would suffer her poor performance to hear the story itself because it is definitely worth the read.

Really enjoyed the black witch, this one was somewhat disappointing, personally I struggled to finish the book.
