Die früheren Urkunden sind wahrscheinlich bei den Einfällen der Ungarn und Türken zugrunde gegangen. Zu Beginn des Pfarrbuches gab es in der Pfarre schon Leute, die sich Roßegger schreiben ließen. Nach anderen Urkunden waren in jener Gegend schon um 1290 Rossecker vorhanden. Sie waren Bauern. Teils auch Amtmänner und Geistliche.
