Der kleine Waschbär Henry will das Eichhörnchenbaby Ben zurück zu seinen Eltern bringen. Doch an der ehemaligen Eichhörnchensiedlung bietet sich ihm ein trostloses Bild: Der Wald wurde hier gerodet. Die Eichhörnchen sind an eine andere Stelle gezogen. Fest entschlossen, Bens Familie zu finden, macht sich der kleine Waschbär mit dem Eichhörnchenbaby auf eine abenteuerliche Suche. Der dunkle Wald ist beängstigend, doch Henry gibt nicht auf. Schließlich naht Hilfe von unerwarteter Seite. Am Ende entdeckt Henry eine Überraschung, mit der niemand gerechnet hat.
