Story
Once upon a time there was a version of our faith that was practically...irresistible. But that was then. Today we preach, teach, write, and communicate as if nothing has changed. As if “The Bible says it” still settles it. It’s time to hit pause on much of what we’re doing and consider the faith modeled by our first-century brothers and sisters who had no official Bible, no status, and humanly speaking, little chance of survival. What did they know that we don’t? What made their faith so compelling, so defensible, so irresistible? Buckle up...you’re about to find out.

That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. By outward metrics, everything appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren't pretty. So he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: 'Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life.' Publisher's Summary
Lift Your Vision High
Vision is a preferred future. A destination. Vision always stands in contrast to the world as it is. Visioneering, according to bestselling author Andy Stanley, is "a clear mental picture of what could be, fueled by the conviction that it should be." With warm, down-to-earth practicality, Andy Stanley explores the ordinary life of Nehemiah and his God-given vision for accomplishing the extraordinary. He shows how the life of this great ancient visionary, determined to rebuild the ruined walls of Jerusalem, reveals principles that can prepare us to find and follow God’s multifaceted vision for our own lives.
In the best-selling Visioneering, Stanley builds a compelling case for the necessity of a clear, God-ordained vision for each of the roles of your life. Whether you’re a parent with a vision for your children or a CEO pursuing a corporate vision, Visioneering is the perfect tool to help you develop and maintain God’s unique purpose for your life.
Andy Stanley, the pastor of more than 15,000, knows a lot of people, and is well aware of the overwhelming and mutual desire nearly every Christian holds to find and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. This book was written to stir these hearts and move people forward by providing tangible steps to getting from Point A to Point B. "As Christians," states Stanley, "we do not have a right to take our talents, abilities, experiences, opportunities, and education and run off in any direction we please." This book was written to provide a specific plan for going in the right direction. It truly is "God’s blueprint for developing and maintaining personal vision."

Brilliant advice for how to live a fulfilled and purposeful life
I would recommend this to any person who wishes to find fulfilment in their pursuits. This book steps you through all the stages of developing and executing a vision that makes a difference. It is full of practical advice but reminds you of the bigger picture that inspires us to pursue a vision in the first place. A must read for leaders and anyone who wants their life to have a greater purpose than living for themselves.ii

Lots of information balanced well with stories
This was very insightful and doubly enjoyable to read. Andy Stanley includes so many stories he runs the risk of making this book seem overly simple. But the many years of wisdom shared in this book are ingeniusly woven into his stories to provide an enjoyable and insightful read.

Stunningly good
Andy Stanley does an amazing job relating these concepts. Solid Biblical foundations. Not sure how you could apply it when not fully surrendered to Christ. It is a book for Christian or those at least open to believe that their vision is bigger than them or the outcome they intend.
The reader is fine but having heard Andy Stanley speak it is easy to wish he had done the book himself.
The book is dense and I found myself on audio realizing that it would be worth "reading" again slowly and taking copious notes.
The other piece that cannot be overlooked is that the author has immense credibility in walking out God given visions. The book is not new and many years later he is still walking out God sized visions...visions surrendered to God

A Guide To Living a LIFE with Purpose!
This Book is by far my favorite book. I've always liked Andy Stanley as a religious teacher. He presents everything in a succinct logical manner, while boldly representing God. This book offers clear direction deciding if a goal is a vision worth pursuing. If so, how should you approach pursuing the vision. It's certainly applicable in business, but a great read for young people starting their career. The narrator did a great job keeping my attention. That's no easy feat!

Practical,Full of Wisdom, Keeps Christ at the centre
Amazing book that takes a thorough analysis of what it takes to identify and bring to fruition the vision
that God has put on your life. Such a wonderful thought provoking and practical book. I really loved the constant reference to the story of Nehemiah and the vision he had.
It was also amazing the big picture focus it had and bringing it back to the vision of God himself, emphasising that it’s not about our calling as individuals but the master plan that God has for his people. There are a lot of resources that are introspective, but this book takes you back to God and doesn’t encourage self driven plans and ambitions.Rather. It continuously encourages the reader towards the bigger picture story of God, which is very humbling.
I also loved the stories about Andy’s experiences and people that he knew. It’s amazing to have drawn such wisdom from everyday situations like that. Some of the stories blew my mind, in particular, that of the individual with a vision to preach the gospel to their high school.
