About this listen

Paul has hated the world and everyone in it, since he was eight years old. As an adult, he has decided to write his autobiography—his final words directed at the very existence that he despises. Paul will take you on a path of murder, death, incest, and violence, the likes of which you could never imagine.

MC is a wanky edgelord. This sucked

This sucked. The MC was a total wanker. The whole book he is a whiny 12-year old edgelord. If you’d told me this was written by one of those guys who writes a “manifesto” before going on a shooting spree because he thinks he is a deep philosopher, I wouldn’t be surprised. I’m saying that as someone who liked Ash Ericmore’s Sick F*ck series.

It has all the splatterpunk hallmarks: gory, grisly murder, rape, necro, incest etc. I think it may have been the dialogue (internal and external) that added to the MC being so wanky. When every sentence is a sweary insult it just got annoying after a while. Because the rest of the time the author didn’t include anything interesting in terms of plot to go with it, it just adds to the feel of someone writing big swears and violence because he’s just SO edgy.

The ending didn’t make it worth the read either. This was my first Stuart Bray book and now I’m canceling my plans to read more.
