Great fascinating story
What a love story and hero life where not expected. Based on the cruel face of Jews under Nazi occupation and betrayel of their own countrymen, one girl was all but a victim. Fascinating, interesting, sometimes cruel as was the time.
Very well told. I highly recommend it.

disappointing
I finished this because I always finish a book. I enjoyed the historical aspect of the book but there was so much nonesense as it went on became unbelievable, and the fiction element went too far. There was so much sadness, it was just too depressing, time after time. And a cruise liner sinks, with a suspected husband on board and the wife goes off to a court case like nothing happened? The author tried to explain the reasoning but it was not believable at all. Do not recommend.
