I lang tid var Luises liv meget svært. Hun følte sig dum, fordi hun ikke kunne læse lige så godt som de andre børn. Men efter hun har gået på specialkursus for børn med ordblindhed, går det hele meget bedre. Det er først, da der begynder at gå rygter om en række pyromanbrande, at det hele begynder at gå skævt for Luise igen... Karen Videbæk (1927-1997) var en dansk forfatter og oprindeligt uddannet som lærer. Karen Videbæk er kendt for sine børnebøger.
