Publisher's Summary

There is a certain cultural affiliation with living on the road that appeals to many Americans and Australians. Whether it is the amount of open spaces upon which to travel in these countries or the wanderlust of spirit, but RV living in the United States and Australia have become exceedingly popular. The problem is that RVs are not inexpensive and while however appealing it is to consider a life on the open road, spending upwards of $80,000 is not an option for most. Van Dwelling and Living off the Grid, the latest book by Stacey Jaiden, hopes to access those feelings and provide an alternative that many not yet have considered: living in a large van.

The idea for this came from reading a book by Albert Bigelow Paine about those who lived in "vans" or covered wagons during the move west, says Jaiden. It sort of resonated with me the concept of living encapsulated in a small space and yet at the same time experiencing more freedom than one could possibly have in a large but stationary space.

Van Dwelling and Living off the Grid walks the listener through the various mechanics of choosing a vehicle, where to find one, how to pick the right one, and how to fit that van with all of the various things that someone will need to live comfortably between stops. It further describes how to find places to park for the night, as well as, how to deal with issues of hygiene while on the open road. Jaiden hopes the book will encourage people to follow their dreams of seeing the country and experiencing the freedom of the open road.

Disappointing

Don’t waste your time with this book. There are no tips, insights or experience to lend to any knowledge gain. The book only lends to ask you the very same questions you have already asked yourself. You will gain nothing.
