Publisher's Summary

We live in a time of unprecedented upheaval, when technology and so-called progress have made us richer but more uncertain than ever before. We have questions about the future, society, work, happiness, family and money, and yet no political party of the right or left is providing us with answers. So, too, does the time seem to be coming to an end when we looked to economists to help us define the qualities necessary to create a successful society.

We need a new movement. One defined by a young historian who can tell us the truth about how we got here. They'd be a political outsider, the voice of their generation, one who doesn't harness rage or agitate grievances but who provides us with the answers for which we've been looking. That person is Rutger Bregman and his vision is Utopia for Realists.

very intelligent, interesting listening.

Would love to see this utopia instead of the dystopia we have in Australia now with the Scomo government raiding our public broadcaster and suppressing inovation and progressive thinking.

Too subjective.

Well narrated. Arguments were logically inconsistent. Too much reliance on emotional rhetoric. Statistics often cherry picked and under used.

Magnificent and thought provoking

Having seen this guy shit all over Tucker Carlson and hear him speak at Davis, his book was the logical next step. It was superb in its simplicity and a better and more fair world is possible.

Challenging and compelling

Rutger Bregman goes all out in this book. Many of the ideas are challenging, and make us flinch. But he makes some compelling arguments, and challenges the way we think about these issues, helping us to set our sights on the bigger picture.

Challenge thy thinking

An interesting, research source-citing piece of work that will broaden the thinking of those who choose to listen, consider, observe and interact.

Concluded by an ending of 2x truthful, motivating pieces of advice!

Excellent book. Universal Basic Income. Yes 😊

Rutger Bergman wants billionaires to pay their taxes, just like poor people. And to save capitalism by giving value to life. Watch what you say, they will be calling you a radical...

This book resonates with Truth

"We are what we think, having become what we thought" - The Buddha

What an inspiring discourse on the importance of curious and creative minds putting their shoulders to the wheel of meaningful existence.

A much needed conversation in the rare and precious world today.
