Publisher's Summary

When Kennedy Stern's childhood pastor asks her to volunteer at his new pregnancy center, she carves time out of her rigorous college schedule to promote the cause of the unborn.

After receiving a disturbing call from someone far too young to carry a child, Kennedy can no longer blindly hide behind the pro-life platitudes she grew up believing. She resolves to locate the unknown girl but winds up entrenched in a mystery that grows more convoluted as it unfolds.

Soon, Kennedy finds herself a pawn in a deadly game of intrigue, at the mercy of those who consider a few innocent lives a small ransom to pay in exchange for personal and political victory.

Moving and hopeful

Great for teens and young singles. Christianity at work in day-to-day life. As Kennedy deals with a young girl seeking help at a pro-life pregnancy clinic. Suspencful and satisfying.

If you love repetitive 3rd person questions....

I agree the performance wasn't the best, it was pretty monotone for a suspense book. But I couldn't get over the incessant questions! Every few minutes you would hear the same pattern of 3 questions ("what would happen if she...." "why...." "would she ever..."). Dialogue was 1 line, followed by a bunch of questions and narrative, then finally the second line of dialogue. So every conversation was an eternity and I kept thinking "get on with it!". Decent story, but the writing is just not my style at all. It seemed more YA to me.

Narrator dysfunction

I thought this storyline looked interesting, so I downloaded it and tried to listen. About 2 minutes into it, I had to stop. There was no way I could listen to this narrator any longer.....much less for The entire book! Very disappointed !!!

Not sure if the title fits

Very well written book. Open ended enough for a sequel. Conversations about faith are not cheesy or overbearing, but very authentic. Well worth the read.

great audiobook

I enjoyed the audio version of this book!!

Wow! Brilliant story with so many different important issues for today's Christians to discuss! Abortion is the main subject but this book makes you think, instead of just giving you the author's opinion. Very well written, as all of Alana's books are! The characters are very well developed and I could picture the crime scene quite well. A mix of mystery, suspense, drama, and a hint of an friendship that appears to be on the verge of romance. I highly recommend this book for all ages 12 and up. Even if you think the subject of abortion is not in your future, it may be in someone you know's past, present, or future. A non judgmental discussion on the subject, such as this book, is a great way to breech it and get people talking! Above all LOVE and compassion should rule this subject for both the mother, father and unborn child!

On The Edge of My Seat Throughout

What did you love best about Unplanned?

The way that this Christian Suspense book faced the circumstances. Kennedy's first choice of action was not always prayer.

What other book might you compare Unplanned to and why?

Each of the other books in the Kennedy Stern series. Each has their similarities as they face the problem addressed in each book.

Which character – as performed by Keli Douglass – was your favorite?

I enjoyed the way she performed Kennedy and the kidnapped girl.

If you could take any character from Unplanned out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Ruben would be fun but I would have to choose Kennedy over him just so we could talk and enjoy each other's company.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Christian suspense.

I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.

Pretty good!

The story was very good! Still some things were left on answered, but for the most part very well done! But, the reading wasn't all there. There were times when the reader felt very mechanical.
