Under the Wishing Well is about a house cat's first time outside on her own. Her name is Dewster, and her short adventure to the outdoors causes quite a stir with her friends, Baxter the dog and Chippy the chipmunk. Dewster, her friends, and the children who listen to this story learn a valuable lesson along the way, plus the true meaning of friendship. After Dewster is accidentally locked outside, she finds shelter through a secret tunnel that leads into Chippy's house, which is built under the wishing well. Baxter comes up with an idea that helps Dewster get back inside the house. Baxter can't figure out where his idea came from, but Dewster and Chippy do. After all, Chippy does live under a wishing well....
