Story
Pip and Shannon dreamed of living the good life. They wanted to slow down, grow their own food and spend more time with the people they love. But jobs and responsibilities got in the way - their chooks died, their fruit rotted and Pip ended up depressed and in therapy. So they did the only reasonable thing - they quit their jobs, pulled the children out of school and went searching for la dolce vita in Italy.

Finding My Bella Vita

-
Story
For years Pia Miranda has been stopped in the street by calls of, 'Found you!', forever linked to that character we all loved: Josie from Looking for Alibrandi. But playing Josie is only one small part of everything that has shaped the woman Pia has become. Finding My Bella Vita is a charming, honest and uplifting memoir full of heart and humour that reminds us all of the two things that matter most - love and family. (A good cannoli and some Vegemite toast also rate pretty highly!)

An adventure of the heart in the mold of literature's classic spiritual journeys. It began with a girl. Then it was Italian food. After that it was books and discovering that even Mark Twain had fallen for Italy. E. M. Forster was smitten too: "Love and understand the Italians, for the people are more marvelous than the land." What is it about Italy and Italians?

NOT A NARRATOR
Frances' story is really lovely, but she is most definitely NOT a narrator. Using a professional would have made the listening experience so much better.

Bad Narration
Frances Mayes can definitely write beautifully, but please, don’t let her narrate her own stories. I was unable to appreciate her wonderful description of Tuscany when all I could hear was her monotone very American accent. After 4 chapters I couldn’t bear it anymore. Definitely a book to be read, not listened too, unless of course you change the narrator.

Tried to listen again
I just can't get into this book as the narrators voice is way to hard to listen too. This is the second time I thought I'd give it a go and still can't listen. I have been told to book was amazing but as I have no time to read I listen to books through this medium and I am so disappointed that I won't get a chance to listen to this book.
