Im Jahr 1851 erschien eine Sammlung "kleiner philosophischer Schriften". Im zweiten Band dieser Sammlung ist der Text "Über Schriftstellerei und Stil" enthalten. Arthur Schopenhauer beschreibt in den ersten Abschnitten die drei Arten von Autoren und deren Beweggründe. Später geht er auf Stoff und Stil der Bücher aus. Seine Hypothesen hinterlegt er mit Beispielen überwiegend aus der klassischen deutschen und internationalen Literatur.

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) war ein deutscher Philosoph, Autor und Hochschullehrer. Sein Hauptwerk war die Schrift "Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung".
