Publisher's Summary
North Korea has perfected a ballistic nuclear submarine, positioned far from the Californian coast but capable of raining down terror on Seattle, San Francisco, LA, and San Diego.
Enough is enough. It’s time to take out this threat and take apart North Korea’s People’s Navy, one boat at a time.
They say, cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Cometh the foe, cometh the submarine.
In exercises against allied diesel-electric boats, the United States Navy watched and learned. Its answer? The most powerful and silent diesel-electric boat ever to patrol the deeps: the USS Stonewall Jackson.
It would require a cunning warrior of the seas to command such a boat. The USN has chosen its best young submariner: Commander Nathan Blake. He’ll need to employ stealth and guile to seek out the foe.
The USS Stonewall Jackson is on her way. She’s mean and mad as hell. But, will Nathan find that the Korean People’s Navy has a trick up its sleeve?
Follow Nathan and the USS Stonewall Jackson into hell and damnation.

This short listen is only about 2.5 hours and it's all about an implausible scenario, but, I guess that's the purpose of fiction. When a North Korean missile submarine tosses a missile across the Pacific Ocean easterly from the California coast, POTUS and the Navy go nuts. They send a diesel electric boat (bought from the Japanese--YGBSM) into North Korean waters to take out THAT specific submarine. There was no thought for alternate retribution for a perceived offense that was carried out in international waters. If you want to know switch positions on a sonar set, read this book! It's narrated by someone who probably never read American English in his life. The plot was multi-faceted and moved fast--a positive--which is what kept my interest to the end. The author's research is lacking as indicated by the poor Navspeak.--probably adopted from another county. Author's web page claims a dozen novels.--a moot point from my perspective as I won't be reading the next 11 books.

Fantastic book!
This book, although short, is well worth you time and money to listen to. The author has created a page turning novel that compares favorably with any Tom Clancy novel. The narrator is also top notch which made this book a perfect audible listen. I hope to purchase more Stephen Makk books as they become available on audible.
