Publisher's Summary

Being bad is better...together.

Spencer Dumas is an asshole, and he's fine with that. As the CEO of Dumas Industries, the billionaire playboy couldn't care less what people think of him. He's got money, power, prestige, and plenty of female attention to keep him satisfied. In fact, he wants for nothing, except possibly the one thing his wealth and privilege won't allow: a life of his own.

Kayla O'Connell is a bitch and proud of it. Ask anyone in Pine Ridge and they'll be happy to bend your ear with tales of her terrible deeds. Kayla's the first to admit she's made some mistakes, but unlike everyone else, she's moved on. All she wants now is to live her life in peace without giving the gossip mongers anything else to talk about.

Staying under the radar isn't hard - until she crosses paths with the corporate bad boy at an exclusive island resort. She knows she shouldn't, but there's no denying the instant and powerful sexual attraction between them. Being so far away from home, they can indulge their darker sides and do wicked, wicked things. No one ever has to know.

It wasn't supposed to mean anything. It was only supposed to be a one-time thing, never spoken of again. After all, villains don't deserve happy endings. Or do they?

More Than Second Chances

We all have done things in our lives that we regret and we all deserve a second chance. This can’t apply more to two people than it does to Kayla O’Connell and Spencer Dumas. This was not only a story of second chances but also one of forgiveness, revelation and realization of what is really important in life. Abbie Zanders once again weaves a wonderful story of love and romance with enough intricate twists and turns to keep the reader wanting to turn the pages. Kayla and Spencer went from hated characters in previous books to loved ones by the end of this book. The epilogue had me cheering and left me wanting more stories from Pine Ridge. If you are a fan of the Callaghan brothers you definitely need to read this book and even if you are new to the Callaghans you can still enjoy this wonderful story! The narration was a bit disappointing. Jefferey Kafer did an amazing job, however I found Heather Costa’s male voices lacking so it was like having all female voices in the chapters she read, which totally spoiled the love scenes! Plus I am not a fan of having narrators switching every other chapter, I prefer duet narration where the male reads the male parts and the female reads the females parts. I am an avid fan of Abbie Zanders books so will continue to purchase her ebooks however I won’t be purchasing audiobooks unless the next audiobook is either ‘duet’ narration or she goes back to a single narrator.

Kayla and Spencer

Kayla and Spencer are great together. She is a b!tch and he is an @sshole. When Kayla goes to an island resort, she meets Spencer. There is an instant connection between them almost like the two of them deserve each other). This is a great story of love. I miss Aiden Snow’s narration since he did all of the previous books but Jeffrey Kafer and Heather Costa did a great job. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Absolutely amazing 👏👏

This book was a spin-off to the Callaghan Brothers series. A series I am still in love with. Kayla and Spencer both did horrible things throughout some of the first few books. So there coming together and having a HEA was the icing on a wonderful cake 🎂

Absolutely Wonderful & Entertaining Story!!

Kayla is a travel agent, who rubbed many in her small town the wrong way in her earlier years. Spencer Dumas is a million dollar CEO running the family business and branching out into developing an exclusive resort. He has quite the playboy image, When Kayla is sent to his resort for research they connect big time, both expecting just a vacation fling. Kayla's abruptness was refreshing to Spencer. She seems to see him as a person, rather than as dollar signs. When they run into each other in "real life", family and societal pressures and unwillingness to be vulnerable work against the undeniable connection that formed between them. Excellent journey of these characters. They seem unlikable, yet they are perfect for each other. They also present another side of themselves when not in the public eye. Highly entertaining - a terrific "listen". Excellent dual narrators.

people can change

Kayla and Spencer are two people who have used and abused other in their lives. When they come together at Spencer's Resort anonymously there is something between them that neither has experienced with anyone else. This story is about two people who bring out the best of each other, compliment each other and prove to their parents that money isn't the only thing to make a person happy. Love and forgiveness allow you to grow and experience life. Another wonderful book by Abbie Zander

Two of a Kind

Two of a Kind was an enjoyable listen. The love story between Spencer and Kayla was interesting and entertaining. I can't say I would recommend what Kayla ultimately did to get the man of her dreams but I suppose that sometimes you've just got to take a chance. This is my first Abbie Zanders book but I would definitely listen to other books of hers, especially ones in this series. Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer did a great job bringing this story to life. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

The Bad Girl Gets Her Story!

This story can definitely be read as a standalone but we met heroine Kayla in First and Only. She was Lexi’s very mean and *witchy step sister. She has... “A past riddled with things she wasn’t proud of?” Kayla is working as a travel agent and goes on a trip to check out the exclusive resort, Sate where she is noticed by Spencer Dumas. Spencer is a multi millionaire CEO, playboy and all around bad boy but finds that he is still under the thumb of his controlling father. I love when the ”bad” girl gets a chance to tell her side of the story and it was wonderful to see Kayla’s growth. I listened to this story on audiobook and loved the narration. -5 Stars!-

Very enjoyable!

Well I’m so glad I finally got round to this book - I’ve always put off reading about Kayla & Spencer as I wasn’t convinced I could ever like them but then would Abbie Zanders ever have given them their own story & chance at a HEA if they weren’t redeemable? A great story that I enjoyed, 2 fascinating characters, maybe not particularly loveable but so interesting & yes ultimately likeable. Both Kayla & Spencer have pretty hard personalities - strong, confident, selfish, single-minded & definitely no problem going for exactly what they want. As a couple they work & bring out some true emotions. Plenty of plot, twists to keep you guessing lots of heat & beautifully narrated by Heather Costa & Jeffrey Kafer, I would recommend this to everyone.

Great addition to the Callaghan universe

The supposed villains of a couple of Abbie Zanders' Callaghan series find each other in this new series. Hugely enjoyable story. Less true villains, more product of dysfunctional parenting. Spencer and Kayla are a great example of how to round out caricatures in stories. There is always a back story and a chance at redemption. Abbie Zanders shows real skill at making unsympathetic characters less horrible, but not fundamentally changing who they are. Both narrators were excellent and I will look out for more audiobooks narrated by either or both of them.
