Two of the Bard's Best in a Unique Format
With so many plays and productions cancelled this year, it was a pleasure to see The Online Stage's new Audible release of Two Tragedies in One Act (Annotated) The two tragedies being Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Macbeth. Two of his most popular, oft-performed and quoted plays, this audio presentation condenses them effectively. Although leaving out some of my favorite lines, many of the famous speeches are still included. With familiar voices from other works done by the Online Stage, as always, they perform splendidly, enabling this listener to imagine the plays onstage. Rob Goll, with his extensive experience performing Shakespeare’s works, shines in the title roles and brings to the fore, each nuance and the emotional impact of the Bard’s words. This is a 2 hour pleasurable listen of classic drama in a unique shortened formal.
