Publisher's Summary

Two necromancers, a dwarf kingdom, and a sky city - it sounds like a prelude to mayhem, and given Timmy’s luck, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

To keep his castle and earn his pardon, Timmy has his work cut out for him. Whether it’s rescuing princesses, crushing hordes of goblins, or dealing with eldritch abominations, Timmy and the gang are there to save the day - and rob the occasional crime lord.

But saving the day isn’t always easy. Timmy might be an eminently sensible necromancer, but he has to deal with a young dragon who is convinced that every problem can be eaten, an elf obsessed with property damage, an ancient vampire who can’t get through a mission without being impaled repeatedly, a semi-retired legendary swordsman, a bureaucrat who has finally mastered the art of screaming and swinging a frying pan, and an overly ambitious apprentice doing her best to be more menacing despite loving the colour pink.

It’s hardly a surprise when things don’t exactly go to plan.

With war on the horizon, Timmy and the others have their hands full. Rescuing a princess can be difficult at the best of times, but rescuing a princess from one of the most powerful crime lords in the world? That’s going to be tricky.

And that’s not their only problem. Ever wonder whose job it is to deal with rampaging hordes of goblins that are about to overwhelm a kingdom of dwarves? Well, that’s Timmy’s job. Isn’t he lucky? On the upside, he finally has an excuse to deploy another army of zombies. He’s going to teach those goblins a very important lesson: Never, ever get into a war of attrition with a necromancer.

One necromancer is dangerous. Two necromancers with a dragon, a vampire, a swordsman, an elf, and a bureaucrat - that’s downright deadly.

Absolutely loved it.

The only problem I have with this audio book is that now I have to wait until the next book in the series is published and then converted to audio. I have absolutely loved the series, I binged all four of the audio book in a row. Have thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of the lovable and hilarious band of misfits and highly recommend this series.

Always employ a necromancer

Thoroughly enjoying this series. The characters are delightful and the potential that is slowly being revealed, and it's only now book 4 is wonderful. I look forward to many more in this series. The narration is excellent and adds to the storytelling.

Wonderful worth every penny.

This series just gets better and better. it's funny it's action-packed and it keeps me guessing. I thank the author for giving me an audiobook of such length and quality. This is a rare gem of a series. I drive a lot and do a lot of mundane tasks dairy and a nice long audiobook is exactly what I need. I will be waiting with bated breath for the next one, and the one after that, and the one after that.

Very enjoyable listen!

An entertaining and light hearted take on dark sorcery. Reminds me of a swords&sorcery version of "Despicable Me," only more violent...and with more screams of terror as people are melted from hydra acid...Sorry, Zombie-Hydra acid.

Love it!

I love this series and enjoyed this story so much I am listening to it again! The team saves a princess, overturns a crime lord, visits an alien world, rescues the Dwarf kingdom, wipe out a goblin strong hold and finds a city that has been lost for centuries. They do all of that without a break. A battle between the Eternal Empire and Everton brings in all the friends that we have met in the series and gives Vicky an opportunity to show her stuff. War is inevitable and our friends who were once working behind the scenes is now known to the emperor. Spot is adorable, unless you threaten him with a potted plant. He and Avraniel really grows in their abilities. Everyone on the team reaches new heights in their abilities and has an opportunity to save the world. An old friend with a new attitude moves into the castle. The character interaction is funny. There is lots of gore and carnage but what do you expect with several battles. There is great action, Timmy does not disappoint with his great shovel moves and you know how Avraniel enjoys using her fire.

love this series

I just devoured this whole series. Good light hearted spoopy fun. A great October read. Timmy is such a wonderful character, as are they all. If "found family" is your trope of choice you won't be disappointed.

Never-ending battles

Totally loved the first few books and will certainly get the next one. But this one felt like hours and hours of overly detailed battle account rather than offering variety and character development. So, given the war that’s likely to break out in the next one, I’m not overly optimistic about there being more to it than epic battle after epic battle.

This was a great book

This was a great book and have some spectacular action moments, The only reason it is not five stars all the way is because it seemed to has less of the funny moments I have come to expect from this series. However, I am still a huge fan a plan on continuing to follow this series.
