In dem Aussteigerkurzroman erzählt der Autor von der Flucht eines jungen Mannes aus unserer Leistungsgesellschaft. Ralf ist 33 Jahre jung und lebt ein sehr überschaubares Leben in einem kleinen Vorort von Hannover. Er kompensiert seinen tristen Alltag mit Alkohol, ohne zu verstehen, wofür er eigentlich noch lebt. Da Ralf eher introvertiert und kein Draufgänger ist, gestaltet es sich sehr schwierig für ihn aus den gesellschaftlichen Fesseln so einfach auszubrechen. Er gelangt eher zufällig nach Kolumbien und von dort an einen der schönsten Strände der Welt - ohne viel Geld und im Einklang mit der Natur. Durch seine Reise und Reisebekanntschaften bekommt er eine völlig neue Sichtweise auf das Leben.
