Publisher's Summary

When MI5 learns that a horrifying new weapon is in enemy hands, agent Andrew Harvey is called in to track it down before it reaches British soil.

But then a woman is found murdered by the roadside and it soon becomes clear that London is in the crosshairs. The clock is ticking. Andrew and his girlfriend, Sarah, also a secret service operative, have only one lead: a beautiful refugee, desperate not to lose her son. But is she desperate enough to betray everything she believes in? And will she do it in time to help them prevent a terrifying attack?

As Andrew and Sarah race to unravel a convoluted web of subterfuge and exploitation, they discover there is more at stake than even they knew. And somewhere, at the heart of it, lurks a faceless enemy, who is prepared to use everything - and everyone - at his disposal.

A different Alan McDermott novel

TROJAN is different from McDermott's Tom Gray series and his Eva Driscoll series, but it is just as good. This standalone is more traditional terrorist than the others. Simon Vance is narrates superbly as he always does.

No character development

I like the author. This book was fast paced and the story was interesting, but there was almost no character development and I didn't really care about the characters.

Also, I'm really tired of the Muslim-bashing. The author made a small attempt to balance this, but it was nothing but a token attempt.

A WORD OF WARNING...

This is terrible. Don't listen to the other reviews they clearly have low standards. The writer and the characters vomit out cliches like he thinks he invented them, just unoriginal dollops of dialogue that make me shiver for Stephen King or Chuck Palahniuk. When you've got already boring characters spewing things like, Spur Of The Moment, Hang Them Out To Dry, Had The Tables Turned On Him, He Overstepped The Mark & yes A Word Of Warning, all the time, it's so unrealistic & tepid it makes my mind creep. I only listened to this for Siman Vance, the narrator, who is brilliant, but struggled to bring any amount of zing to this mundane pot of English tosh. I bet Mr Vance missed reading word supremos like Richard Morgan & Clive Barker while molesting his eyes & voice on this.
Don't spend 7 hrs of your life polluting your brain, listen to ANYTHING ELSE instead. Unless you have low standards that is, if you do then You Know The Drill, Don't Hang Around & Stare Into Space, put it on & You Will Be Grinning Like A Cheshire Cat.
