Alles kann sich in diesem Leben verändern, verbessern, nur nicht die Trinkgeldfrage. Denn wie könnte man wirklich irgendeinen Menschen daran hindern, aus freiestem Entschlusse durch kleine oder große Gaben an Leute, von denen er irgendwie abhängig ist (Lohndiener, Stubenmädchen, Köchin, Portier) den »Wagen zu schmieren«, dass er besser, rascher fahre! Trinkgelder richtig, zart, großzügig, edel anwenden, halte ich direkt für den Prüfstein der inneren wirklichen Kultur eines Menschen! Menschen, die mit Trinkgeldern knausern, hasse und verachte ich instinktiv, besonders wenn es »Damen« sind, denn das sind eben dann keine Damen!
