About this listen

The Bachelor meets The Hunger Games. Ten women. A deadly contest. Only one can win the Sun King's heart.

Lor has endured twelve long years of torment under the Aurora King's rule. Her only desire is to get free and pay him back for every moment of misery she's endured.

When a surprise release finds her in the hands of the Sun King, Lor is thrust into the spotlight as she competes against nine other tributes for the role of queen. If she wins his heart, she'll earn her freedom and finally get her revenge.

But Lor doesn't belong in the Sun Queen trials. Not only does she not understand why she was freed, she isn't a citizen of the Sun King's court. The other tributes resent her presence and will stop at nothing to ensure Lor is wiped off the gameboard—permanently.

Now Lor must win because if she loses, she dies. Or worse, she'll be sent back into the hands of the Aurora King.

This glittering fae romance is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer Armentrout, and Raven Kennedy. Trial of the Sun Queen is the first book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series with an eventual happy ever after.

I saw this series hyped alot online and didn't really get it... I found everything to be predictable and romantasy cliche... I wasn't surprised at all the entire book and found the FMC to be quite annoying and uninteresting, even with her backstory I didn't find it made her personality or choices very interesting. there is some curiosity to how the next books will go, but not enough to keep listening.

an ok read but overhyped IMO

the book was great but the narrator sounded bored, not enthused to read it at all

This story had great bones. I did lose track during parts of this story, and found parts harder to listen to. But overall, I was Intreagued to find where this story would take me.
Narration is good, but I found the- what I'll call "whine" in the female narration, a little hard to listen to, as this was supposed to be a strong female characture.

Good bones

Enjoyed the story, glad it’s a series and it’s complete because I wanted it to keep going on

Sunny read

This book was a good start to a series I'm enjoying. My only negative is the male narrator, whose performance was far from great. Fortunately he doesn't feature much in this book, but he has a greater role in the later books and his performance remains poor.
The female narrator was fine, not great, but not bad.

An enjoyable beginning
