Couldn't get through it - this isn't the book

As much as audio effects can be good in audiobooks, too much emphasis on noises and overacting performances that it was actually roo difficult to listen to. I can't tell what is in the book and what nonsense is being added. There's only so many times you can hear 'ho ho and a bottle of rum' repeatedly sung by bad actors. I want to hear the actual book, not the creative 'performance' rewrite, the book doesn't repeat that line as many times.

Highly Recommended

Delightful few hours being spent whisked away to another time, another world. Characters full of cunning, greed and devilish despair are bought to life, transported through clever casting.

Timeless Classic Revisited

My pirate mad grandson was being read an abridged version of this classic by his Dad which prompted me to re visit a book I’d last read in my teens. What a ripping yarn and with some thoughtful underlying themes I’d missed as a youngster, and very well read by the participants, particularly whoever played Silver’s parrot!

Theatrical

What a wonderful, theatrical retelling of an old classic. The cast really brought the story to life.

Was expecting more but its still good for children

I was probably expecting more because it was many decades since I read it and it had “inflated” in my memory. Still, it’s a great yarn for children and well narrated.

very entertaining from start to finish

The performances of this dramatisation are amazing. I was on the edge of my seat and wanted to listen to it all. The sound effects and acting draw you in to the world and engross you in it. Worth a listen even if you have read the book 100 times.

It's a crappy adaption

Awful cuts between scenes make it verry jaring to listen to. The scenes are overly simplified, the original book was quite detailed. Simply put, this is just a poor adaption of a classic and I'm glad it was free.
