Publisher's Summary

“In another life, she was my forever.”

An unexpected tragedy leaves Professor Nathaniel Hunt a widower alone with a newborn baby.

He hires a nanny. She’s young but well-qualified, with a simple life, a crazy name obsession, and a boyfriend she met at the grocery store.

Over time, he discovers she knows things about him - things that happened before she was born - like a hidden scar on his head, his favorite pizza, and how he cheated on a high school Spanish test. She speaks familiar words and shares haunting memories that take him back to over two decades earlier when he lost his best friend in a tragic accident.

“I’m afraid of what’s going to happen when you realize I’m not her.”

Transcend is a sexy, mind-bending journey that uncovers possibilities, challenges beliefs, and begets the age-old question: Is there life after death?

Book 1

Not a fan of "to be continued... " But...this duet is well worth it! Before you begin, make sure to have a box of tissues. I laughed out loud! I wanted to throw my phone! I cried! I had an idea where I was being lead. But, what a great story!

OMG...what a story!

sweet baby jesus where is book 2 to Transcend. This is one of the most interesting and compelling, complex and fascinating books I've listened to recently. And I have hundreds of books in my library. So glad I found this book.
As soon as I started listening I could not stop and was hooked. I did a marathon to finish book 1 and it was awesome.
Jewel E. Ann has got me on pins and needles for the conclusion. I never read the hard copy but might have to purchase book 2 to satisfy my immediate need for the series conclusion since it's not on audible yet.
Andi Arndt roped me into this book with her wonderful words, angst, sincerity, passion and all the feels.
I absolutely can't wait for the conclusion. I need it badly like a junkie needs their fix. So good thanks to Andi.
Not that Stephen Dexter isn't good, but Andi is just better at these emotional stories. She is by far the queen of audible to me. Pleeaasseee bring book 2 to audible. And soon!!!!

UNIQUE, UNMISSABLE & TRULY UNFORGETTABLE

OMG this Duet!!.. this incredibly moving, heartbreaking, touching, heartfelt Duet completely consumed my days and my nights and I’m in total awe of this author’s remarkable writing abilities to create such a tragically beautiful story and wonderful characters. Reincarnation, passion, romance, sex, gut wrenching heartache and love.. love.. love.

A unique story told mainly from the heroine’s POV, the narration was perfect by Andi and Stephen and there were SO many emotional tugs on my heart and my soul. Go in blind and let the feels take you on a journey you’ll never forget.

Worth a credit? Oh.. my.. God YES - Jewel E. Ann slowly broke my heart.. and then pieced it back together again.

hard to deal with the angst and now cliff hanger.

Don't know whether to cry or be mad with this ending. Afraid to get the next book, afraid of what the rest of the story will lead to. Will I be able to not do it though? Ugh. Love the narrator and the book though. But it stressed me out.

OMG I need book 2!!!! SO GOOD!!

Wow, let me start with this… I have not been SO happy with a series in a long time, and this one seriously has won me over in every way!!!

Okay book one.. I was so torn! Is it a love triangle? Poor Swazi!(BTW, that name?!! YASS!!) I feel for her so much! Her life has been so confusing and it all led up to this point where she meets Nate and everything turns upside down in her life. She is trying so hard to hold on to the love of her life Griffin (whom I freaking LOVE!!!) but she is having all these confusing feelings for Nate the no one understands… you MUST get this book to see what I am talking about… SO SO SO good!

The narration spot freaking ON!!!! Would not change a thing!! <3

Do you believe in reincarnation?

When a grieving widowed father seeks help from a nanny to help care for his baby girl he discovers something unexpected. Having grown detached from human contact and touch Nate learns that his coping mechanisms are not healthy ways to move forward.
Swayze brings fond memories of a past that is not her own, yet she knows things that carve a healing path for this confused man who has lost his way.

Overall:
I remained in denial of this theory. I was skeptical of this concept initially, but the more I delved into the theories I slowly began to believe.

I love how jewel built a healthy relationship between Griffin and Swayze. The more I think about her couples I realize each one has a unique quality that firmly grounds them. While Swayze figures out her memories Griffin stands by her side supporting her the best way he can. Grocery store guy is by far my favorite male character that Jewel has created. He exudes desirable qualities I admire in a man.

Narrator:
Andi Arndt performed the female point of view of Swayze. Stephen Dexter performed the male point of view of Nate. There were times between chapters when dual points of views warranted both narrators performances. This was by no means a duet, but it had instances where both narrators performed their sections in the same chapter.
I’ve listened to Andi’s audiobook performances before. Her voice is familiar to me. I haven’t listened to anything by Stephen before. I’m a picky listener when it comes to male narrators. Stephen was good, but not great. I looked forward to Andi’s performance more than Stephen’s. His tone and sound just didn’t sound appealing to my ears. He wasn’t quite what I envisioned for Nate’s voice. Even still it didn’t hinder my enjoyment of this audiobook. In fact, I’m extremely impressed with both performances.

You know a book is good when you read it a second time and it’s just as good as you remembered it. I’d venture to say it actually gets better with a second read because the focus is different after having discovered the outcome and I can sit back and enjoy other aspects that I missed the first time around.

Wow. Just wow!!!!!

I really can’t say a whole lot without giving clues away however the acting the writing the story is so worth it. I never buy cliffhangers however this one is so unique. Time travelers wife with a murder mystery. I love Andi Arndt even tho I believe she’s over used in books. We need to find narrators that are talented to be heard more. It seems audible or the audible company’s use certain narrators and don’t go looking for great talent. That’s a shame. However this is an awesome story well worth two credits.

Great Storytelling, suspenseful book

I honestly don’t know how I feel about the book overall but I was glued to my seat while listening. I couldn’t move and i was just transfixed by the story. It’s a bit outside the realm of what I normally enjoy but I’d like to give the author a chance to blow me out of water.
Swayze, Nate and Griff are all fighting to hold on to the person they love but someone wont have the ending they long for.

Epic!

Where to begin? This is DEFINITELY not your usual chiclit, if anything it reminded me of a Barbara Erskine book only with more passion and sex.

There are so many twists and turns, push and pulls, gripping stuff. The writing is excellent, narration good (not too keen on the male —>female bits, why can’t they just get a woman to do the woman’s bits?????), the storyline is memorable and characters relatable and likeable.

The fact that there were two books in this series made it all that more awesome. A brilliant read (or listen 😝). First I’ve read by this author, will definitely be adding Jewel E Ann to my watch list 😊😊
