Publisher's Summary

Following on from Tom Swan and the Head of St George, Tom Swan and the Siege of Belgrade is the next instalment of the fast-paced series set in the turbulent Europe of the 15th century.

Fifteenth-century Europe. Tom Swan is not a professional soldier. He's really a merchant and a scholar looking for remnants of Ancient Greece and Rome - temples, graves, pottery, fabulous animals, unicorn horns. But he also has a real talent for ending up in the midst of violence when he didn't mean to. Having used his wits to escape execution, he begins a series of adventures that take him to street duels in Italy, meetings with remarkable men - from Leonardo Da Vinci to Vlad Dracula - and from the intrigues of the War of the Roses to the fall of Constantinople.

truly oustanding!

great history, great action, interesting characters. the only book I've ever read, fiction or not, that deals with the 600 years of war between the Ottomans and the West. can't wait for the next installment!

simply Fabulous

This by far my new favourite series. Great story, good characters and interesting history. Peter Nobel brilliant narrator as always. the best historical fiction i have listened to in ages. A bit blood thirsty at times but the world was like that. parts of it still are sadly.
Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Took me a while to get into

Neither book in this series so far has grabbed me from page 1 but they have built up to thoroughly satisfying ends.
