About this listen

Following on from Tom Swan and the Head of St George, Tom Swan and the Siege of Belgrade is the next instalment of the fast-paced series set in the turbulent Europe of the fifteenth century. This collection contains the full story - parts one through seven.

Fifteenth Century Europe. Tom Swan is not a professional soldier. He's really a merchant and a scholar looking for remnants of Ancient Greece and Rome - temples, graves, pottery, fabulous animals, unicorn horns. But he also has a real talent for ending up in the midst of violence when he didn't mean to. Having used his wits to escape execution, he begins a series of adventures that take him to street duels in Italy, meetings with remarkable men - from Leonardo Da Vinci to Vlad Dracula - and from the intrigues of the War of the Roses to the fall of Constantinople.

Christian Cameron delivers every time. He makes you feel like you’re actually right there 600 years ago. I cannot speak more highly of this guy. The chivalry series is also by him and my all time favourite

Historical fictions best

My comment is that the author makes their characters feel as if they have a sense of authenticity. Many authors basically have their characters have values of today whereas I like this book series because the characters feel real for the time period. Besides this the action scenes have actual swordplay descriptions that are studied from that period.

Enjoying the series.

As a historical reenactor of this period I love to sit back a listen and listen to the adventures following up with research of some of the real life characters and events in which each tale weaves amongst.

Inspiration overload

the narrator is top notch, he manages so many different accents and stylesz each character is different.

the story is still absolutely amazing, battles and skirmishes, intrigue and investigations.

one of my favourites

Peter Noble is a master narrator. The story was fast paced with lots of action and a great storyline. The only problem with this story and frankly the whole Tom Swan series are the array of characters. I had problem keeping a track on who’s who. It would have been great for the author to supply a list of the characters with a basic description on who they were.

Fast paced action
