Publisher's Summary

This dating advice for women gives you the blueprint to the male mind so you can get what you want from a man...and not the other way around.

Guys get away with tons of stuff and you allow them to. This book will strip men of their power and render them helpless until you have gained what you desire through his actions. And then and only then will we "power him up" again.

I'm Gregg, a top dating coach out of Boston. Everyone's story is unique. You are unique. Men are unique. But your situation is not. I have seen it and fixed it a thousand times.

This book is your core resource to understanding how we think and a confidence-builder.

Here's a preview of what you'll learn:

  • The conveyer belt to manhood (the influences of our upbringing)
  • How we love in different ways and how these ways affect you
  • How men determine a keeper
  • The three things men require (they are not what you think)
  • The five mistakes woman always make and don't realize (this chapter alone will change your life)

childish, classless

this is not for women who respect themselves not for dating in an environment of mutual boundaries. this is a book written for women who are willing to simper and be anything a male wants them to be

One size dies not fit all

Easy to listen too although again I find another book aimed at the American market. Not all men are raised in the same culture and the writer did not take this into account. Some good points in the book that would be of value to certain types of women. Wether they would take it on board though is the big question,

Few good gems for thought

Liked it overall. Few good gems in here - like what women do wrong & a few lightbulb moments from looking back at some personal failed relationships.
Went between hating & liking the narrator. Still can't decide.
I'm intrigued to know more. I don't know why the author has many small books & doesn't just amalgamate into one big book. I feel a bit cheated however & can't be bothered downloading more to be honest.
But I would still recommend it. Short, sweet and to the point.
A few over simplistic and smelling of fabricated people for use of examples but it is what it is

A must-read!!

Seriously, this book is far more readable and applicable than "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus". I recognised so many of the mistakes that I've made mentioned in this book, and the way Gregg urged us to "dump that ass" made me laugh (right to the heart)! I feel instant empowerment in myself after reading this book, and the confidence to own the dating / relationship game, as now I have a road map to follow in attracting the right men whereas I was flying blind before. would recommend this book to all my girlfriends.

fantastic

What made the experience of listening to To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy the most enjoyable?

His advice works!

What was one of the most memorable moments of To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy?

I know what I was doing wrong and why I pushed men away.

Which character – as performed by RJ Walker – was your favorite?

N/A

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Inside the mind of a man

Any additional comments?

Wow has this book transformed my life from. This will probably sound like a phony review because I am going to say many great things about Gregg Michaelsen and his book, but I am real. I am 42 years old, and I have been through some terrible relationships that apparently failed otherwise I wouldn’t have needed this book. I have been transformed from the insecure, clingy, needy, pushy, overbearing women to the confident, carefree girl. He teaches you how men think and why a woman like I use to be scare men off. He teaches you how to become confident, independent, and desirable to men. While learning all of this I discovered that I am my own source of happiness, not a man. I use to think I needed a man to be happy and fulfilled, not anymore. I am perfectly happy on my own being me. Now I don’t put up with any crap, I know how to be the girl a guy wants in his life, not the woman they run from. I am dating a guy right, and I have done EXACTLY what Gregg said, and it is working out very well. The biggest thing I want to stress is if you follow his advice it will work. It is hard to do but I forced myself to do it, and it worked!! Another fabulous thing about Gregg is that he does respond to your emails. I emailed him a couple times asking him specific questions, and he emailed me back the next day. He does care!
Thanks, Gregg!
Sincerely, Elizabeth

Greg Holds Nothing Back And Tells It Like It Is...

What did you love best about To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy?

Greg put humor and blunt facts right out there. I have dated for 3 years now, and I'm in my 50s. I see now, how guys really do act and think. Everything he said seemed to be a road map for a woman who can see it from the man's perspective.

Which scene was your favorite?

Greg takes you through stages of the dating process and beyond, into a steady relationship. So many times, while listening to the download, I was laughing at the funny, but true and blunt humor he through in...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

About half way through the book, I had that ahhh haaa moment where all the mistakes I had made came to fruition.

Any additional comments?

I feel like I have a chance now at really going into a date with the arsenal I need to dump the losers and how to project myself to the ones I want to date awhile. I am excited to see how it will go. I am attractive for 56 and look much younger than my age. Healthy lifestyle and fitness... good self esteem... Now I can put it all to use to my advantage.

Insightful and informing

Normally when I read these types of books I sense that it's more biased towards just pleasing the man. I didn't feel this way w this book. I already have/know most of the stuff talked about but I wasn't aware of it or how to use these things. Super helpful. Loved the book!!

Very insightful!

I read the other reviews before I bought this book. One of them stated they thought Greg was to self promoting. I, however, didn't feel that way. Greg even offers two more of his books for free! Overall, I found the book intriguing! He was so spot on with what's been going wrong with my past relationships that it was kinda scary! He gave great advise on what to do to change things up! If you're looking for a book to help you understand the man you already have, or if you are single and trying to find "that man", this is the book for you! It will totally change your mindset and give you what you need to know to be successful! Definitely worth it! Buy it! You won't regret it!

just okay

Worth the read because it's got some good points and it's not too long. However, the amount of self-promotion was a big turnoff for me. Almost gave it two stars because of
that.

Good Reminders, Nothing Revolutionary

The information was well presented in an engaging, enthusiastic tone that was short of being hyper or strident. Filled with generalizations and clichéd stereotypes, but what self-help book can really avoids that? As readers, we are searching for general principles of what generally works, and so generalizations are a necessity of the genre.
Overall, if you are a woman that would enjoy some friendly and helpful dating advice from a male best - friend or a pseudo brother, you will enjoy this book.

The Best Money I Ever Spent For Dating Advice

If you could sum up To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy in three words, what would they be?

Boundaries, Confidence, Standards

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Author/Narrator; He has a voice that is easy to listen to, his passion for the topic is obvious in his inflections, he explains what to do and not do in such a way that it is easy to understand where you need to improve.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Women...Get In The Man Mode".

Any additional comments?

I listened to this book twice within a 24 hour period. That is about a 6 hour investment in something that is going to change the way I approach dating and relationships for the rest of my life...I had so many ah-ha moments it was unreal...if you want to better understand yourself when it comes to men and relationships, this book is a must listen to.

Entertaining and valuable!

Really great book to help me put things into perspective and to remind me to be a high value woman. Not too long, very practical. A lot of the tips are the same as in Steve Harvey’s book, Think Like a Man (provide, protect, profess, the cookie/sex) and Matthew Hussey’s How to Get the Guy (have standards, be high value, be interesting and have your own life). Enough is different too (man mode, act like he would before he does, try one new thing a week to keep things interesting, advice to better oneself and to gain confidence). I like that he gives tips about what to do to maintain an amazing relationship because most books are just how to find the guy.

meh. if you looking for general info. nothing deep

What would have made To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy better?

too much self promotion for other books to buy. just write one big book man. this book is very shallow and says basic things. or is for girls who just woke up to understanding that you need to have a life in order to date a good guy. way too shallow and general. Men are bit more complex then that these days. Or at least i would appreciate deeper analysis. good point on if you're not getting smth out of a man you're dating, its probably because he doesn't want to give it to you. Not because YOU dont have a hobby or interests, but because HE isnt where he wants to be. so i would say Overrated.

Has To Date a Man, You Must Understand a Man: The Keys to Catch a Great Guy turned you off from other books in this genre?

a bit it did. but again i've listened to some other books of his, and you will hear smth that is good, but it will take you full book to listen to find it. So i would say listen on speed X2 so u can go through with it faster

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really. not enough of depth. "if you physically fit and you just need a bit of help on how to start dating... but if you're not fit, and if you're like most women and especially if you're a bit older, you're probably out of shape... ' this is actually from the book... i mean. seems that this was written for college drop out with low self esteem and zero self appreciation women. which is a OK, but then the book summary should indicate the profile and who is this for

Very insightful, must read for any single ladies

I thought the book was very engaging and content very interesting and amusing.
It was great to hear a mans view on dating and relationships and certainly will change my behaviour especially during the early courtship days.
Although I believe in being authentic and natural I agree there are just certain points where women without intention and without realising it push men away.
Must read for single ladies.
Thank you Gregg

Not great

The whole 'wet kitten' element in the description is just plain annoying. Maybe just using the word immature would have been better...
