Publisher's Summary
The unforgettable and achingly tender new novel from Sarah Winman, author of the international best seller When God Was a Rabbit and the Sunday Times Top 10 best seller A Year of Marvellous Ways.
It begins with a painting won in a raffle: 15 sunflowers, hung on the wall by a woman who believes that men and boys are capable of beautiful things. And then there are two boys, Ellis and Michael, who couldn't be closer. And the boys become men, and then they meet Annie, and it changes nothing and everything.
Tin Man sees Sarah Winman follow the acclaimed success of When God Was a Rabbit and A Year of Marvellous Ways with a love letter to human kindness and friendship, loss and living.

A tender, moving meditation on friendship, love, family...
I enjoyed hearing Sarah Winman’s reading of her own work, as she intended it to sound... This tender evocation of time looping in and through lives, tying people to each other in love, friendship, chance encounters and other overlapping circles of connection... reminding me that loneliness, fear, and the need for connection are the deepest, most universal aspects of human experience. And that our ability to communicate is never as big as our desire to communicate. A beautiful novel.

Sensitive Writing
I was totally immersed in the lives of Michael Annie and Ellis such wonderful insights into lives marked by love shared but for Michael unresolved longing of his love for Ellis.

Unbelievably beautiful and moving
Sarah Winman is a outstanding author and this book is another beautiful story that goes beyond typical love stories to cover the real depth of human experiences. She creates characters that live with you long after the story is over. The magic of listening to Sarah read the story turns it into poetry. I was in tears throughout, it was truly beautiful.
