How did Tiger Woods become the greatest of all time?

And how did he fall so spectacularly?

Before the age of twenty-five, Tiger Woods had risen to phenomenon status: twice named Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated, champion of more than thirty professional tournaments and the youngest player to win all four Grand Slam tournaments.

Tiger, Tiger taps into the transformative moments of Wood's life, revealing in vivid, dramatic scenes what he saw and felt on the course and in his inner life.

A great overview of Tigers life so far with behind the scenes stories that give a great insight into him and his life.

A great comprehensive story

I’ve listened to and read just about everything written about Tiger Woods and sadly this is the one I enjoyed the least. It’s just okay.

There just wasn’t enough context to the stories and Patterson (who has several amazing books - read his Aaron Hernandez one), just wrote this one with too little depth. He’d include lines where Tiger hit a LW 5 yards long, but doesn’t tell you it’s because his caddy Steve Williams could see he was pumped up and didn’t tell him the right yardage. There are several examples where information was included and unless you knew the context from elsewhere, it adds no value.

The book did give some cool insight into Tigers family life, but other than that, it was just okay. Start elsewhere and then come here if you love the big cat.

The narration was alright. His accents lifted his performance (although he does Williams as an Aussie, not a Kiwi), but it was the poor pronunciation that got me. In one sentence he said Tigers mom two different ways, and got several other names, brands and places wrong.

The book was okay and I’m happy I’ve listened, but there are better books about golf’s greatest ever player.
