About this listen
THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING PHENOMENON
'For anything to be truly good, there must be love in it. Nothing is what it's supposed to be if love is not at the core.'
One morning, a stranger arrives in the town of Golden. No one knows who he is or where he came from…
His name is Theo and he's arrived there by chance – or has he? He visits the local coffeehouse, where ninety-two pencil portraits hang on the walls, portraits by a local artist of the people of Golden. He begins purchasing them, one at a time, and putting them back in the hands of their 'rightful owners'. With each exchange, a story is told, a friendship born, and a life altered.
A story of seeing and being seen, Theo of Golden is a beautifully crafted novel about the power of creative generosity, the importance of wonder to a purposeful life, and the invisible threads of kindness that bind us to one another.
Readers love Theo of Golden…

Love.and I loved it too.

I loved the soothing sound of the narrators voice, combined with the beautiful words and emotion tied into them. I listened at normal speed. Which I don’t usually do as I wanted to drink in each moment. I had been listening to (as always) my usual raft of thrillers and needed a break. This book left profound feelings for me on life and the impact of kindness.
I cried multiple times. I felt and could picture parts in the story multiple times, felt myself looking at the characters or pictures on the wall of the coffee shop as Theo gazed upon them. The narrator did an amazing job of not just bringing the individualism of the characters, but Theo’s voice and his kindness and generosity to life.
Thank goodness the author finished it. I enjoyed hearing from him at the end. How he was inspired to write this and how the characters came to life in his mind.
I will forever recommend this book.
