Publisher's Summary

After Kim and her husband, Brian, decide to quit their jobs to travel around the world, they're given a yellow envelope containing a check and instructions to give the money away. There are only three rules for the envelope: don't overthink it, share your experiences, and don't feel pressured to give it all away. Through Ecuador, Peru, Nepal, and beyond, Kim and Brian face obstacles, including major challenges to their relationship. As they distribute the money to people they encounter along the way, they learn that money does not have anything to do with the capacity to give but that it is the giving of ourselves that is transformational.

Inspired and Motivated

I listened to this book while driving from Dallas, TX to Santa Fe, NM on a solo trip with intention of recharging the batteries of my soul and reconnecting to the Mother Earth I love so dearly. I feel like this book came to me magically at the most ideal time. My new fiancé and myself have been diving deep into the depths of our shadow selves over the last 8 months and these self journeys have brought many trials and tribulations to our relationship. I feel more inspired and motivated than I ever have to embark on an adventure similar to this with him. I am so grateful for you sharing this story with the world and am so hopeful that many others will be impacted as strongly as I have been.

With love,

Courtney Roberts

Beautiful and Inspiring book, but

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly suggest buying the book to read for yourself. It was painful to listen to the multitude of mispronounced words and an excruciating attempt at foreign languages by the narrator.Having said that...Don't miss this book if you are an adventuresome Spirit!

Send this Envelope away

I was disappointed by this book. Most of the time, I felt the author was whiny, overly self concerned, and needy. Typical “Millenial” entitlement.

I did not enjoy the performance: the way she spoke with any character other than the author , using stereo typical accents, was just awful. Her husband, Indian accents, etc were hack.

Excellent!

it's got off to a slow start, but hang in there because it gets really really good. the narrator had a wonderful ability to do different voices so that you really believed it was different characters. The message of this book is very profound and Powerful. I would read other books by this author for sure.

sorry that I spent the money on this

because the author will feel validated by the sale of this self-indulgent trip spent looking at herself instead of the world.

Boring

Maybe this book hots up eventually but I gave up an hour into it. I should have stopped sooner. I did have a good snooze though.
I think the words about her creating an Excel spreadsheet to record the Yellow Envelope spendings finally finished off any idea about this being any real kind of adventure. Shame as the concept could have been interesting.

Excellent for people that are lost

I am throughly pleased that I purchased this book. She details how difficult long term travel, as well as long term relationships, can be.

Inspiring story

This was an inspiring story that made me tear up in many places, however it was thoughtful and real and was a welcome reminder of the good in the world.

Unfortunately I found the narrator rather annoying. Not so much that I stopped listening to the story, but I did find myself cringing often – – especially when she was 'playing the role' of Brian or Michelle.

Vicariously travelling!

I have loved this book & all the stories. I’m not able to travel at the moment & have no idea when/if I’ll be able to do it again. But, this book has reminded me of many travels over the years & helped me travel to new places as the author talks about their experiences in such a wonderful way. Thank you so much for putting these words on a page for us to enjoy.

I was with them all the way.

Utterly unmutable. An envelope reveals a real life journey of soulful discovery. Stories that jog along and feel this real usually are so. At the end of each day the dust settles, the journey unravels, and for good reason the soul gets bigger and whole again.

Awesome story but narration irritating at times

loved the booked. lovely story. I felt like I was travelling with these guys, going through their experiences with them. I felt like they were speaking directly to me.
the narration gets a bit irritating at times especially when she's trying to do a man's voice.
