Publisher's Summary

Bob Dylan is a singular figure defined by a lifetime of creative invention that has helped transform music, literature, pop culture, and even politics. This book provides a lively, accessible look at his art and music as seen by leading rock and pop critics and music scholars. The chapters are carefully integrated so that listeners can take quick dives into specific topics ranging from the Blues to religious faith, civil rights, and American literature. Incorporating a rich array of new archival material, The World of Bob Dylan offers a comprehensive, informed and fresh account of the songwriter, artist, filmmaker, and Nobel Laureate whose unique voice has permanently reshaped our cultural landscape.

Mixed Bag

I love where this book is coming from and it’s literary style. Unfortunately the initial momentum of the audible version is killed immediately by the constant switching between several of the most dry/monotonous narrators I’ve ever heard on audible, who also vary in speed to a laughable degree. I found it very difficult to drive listening to this without feeling drowsy or having to slow down/speed up the narration from section to section.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Audible Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
