Publisher's Summary

Cecil Younger, local Alaskan investigator, is neither good at his job nor great at staying sober. When an old Tlingit woman, unimpressed by the police's investigation, hires him to discover why her son, a big-game guide, was murdered, he takes the case without much conviction that he'll discover anything new.

But after a failed assassination attempt and the discovery of previously missed evidence, Younger finds himself traveling across Alaska to discover the truth in the midst of conspiracies, politics, and Tlingit mythology. High drama meets local color as Cecil Younger works to uncover the motive and identity of the killer.

good story and good performance

I really enjoyed John's trailer I'd read this a long time ago but during this particular time it's nice to open up and read an old friend he has a great writing style and a pretty tragic character who tries to do good. the performance was good

pretty good

I was a big fan of the written books and loved the Alaskan setting so am re-reading them on Audible. I generally avoid American accent narrators but this one was very good, probably because this is the first US novel I've listened to haha. Cecil Younger, the detective, seems to bring out the worst in everybody he encounters. I enjoyed the book.
