Publisher's Summary

From the critically acclaimed author of Prince of Fools comes the third volume of the brilliant new epic fantasy series The Red Queen's War.

All the horrors of hell stand between Snorri Ver Snagason and the rescue of his family, if indeed the dead can be rescued.

For Jalan Kendeth, getting back out alive and with Loki's Key is all that matters. Loki's creation can open any lock, any door, and it may also be the key to Jal's fortune back in the living world. Jal plans to return to the three Ws that have been the core of his idle and debauched life: wine, women, and wagering.

Fate, however, has other larger plans....

The Wheel of Osheim is turning ever faster, and it will crack the world unless it's stopped. When the end of all things looms and there's nowhere to run, even the worst coward must find new answers. Jal and Snorri face many dangers - from the corpse hordes of the Dead King to the many mirrors of the Lady Blue - but in the end, fast or slow, the Wheel of Osheim will exert its power. In the end it's win or die.

A masterpiece

What a series, imaginative, frustrating, funny but totally gripping this was the best series of books I’ve read/listened to in a very long time. Do yourself a favour and sink into this rich and colourful world, you won’t regret it!

Good conclusion

Good conclusion to the series. Really liked the growth of Jalan as a character. The pace of the story is somewhat faster than in the previous books but it works nicely to fit in more action. Great performance by Sean Ohlendorf - he has a magnificent variety of voices and accents

What a series and narrator

Love Mark Lawrence’s and have just finished the third Red Queen book. A fabulous story but Sean Ohlendorf has got to be the best narrator out there, and I don’t say that lightly. He repertoire is vast and every single character is so distinct from any other you could swear there is more than one narrator. Hurry up and read some more Sean!

Very Enjoyable

A wonderfully entertaining end to the second series of (audio) books set in the broken empire. I think if you listened to the first two there's no way you can't finish with this. It's as enjoyable, funny and exciting as the previous books and has a rather fitting end. There's even more world building and a lot more details of the past that are revealed which I particularly like. I really enjoyed Sean Ohlendorfs performance throughout, he really brought the characters to life. Really enjoyed the whole thing
