Publisher's Summary

Science has now proved the legendary Wim Hof method of breath control and cold training can dramatically enhance energy levels, improve circulation, reduce stress, boost the immune system, strengthen the body, and successfully combat many diseases. While Wim Hof himself has run marathons in -30 degress Celsius in shorts, swum hundreds of meters under the ice, sat in a tank of ice for 90 minutes without his core temperature changing, and boosted his metabolism by more than 300 percent, The Way of the Iceman documents how anyone can use Wim’s methods to transform his or her health and strength quickly and safely.

“After teaching specialized breathing techniques to SEALs for years, helping them focus, stay warm in the cold ocean and get centered in combat, I can attest to the authenticity and power of Wim Hof's methods. Wim Hof is providing a great service with his new book The Way of The Iceman by bringing breath training and simple, powerful health practices into mainstream consciousness.” (Mark Divine, US Navy SEAL (ret), founder of SEALFIT, best-selling author of Unbeatable Mind and Way of the SEAL)

Critic Reviews

"I am continuously searching for ways to expand my mind, body and spirit - Wim Hof and The Way of the Iceman have done just that! He shows us that human potential is limitless and we are ALL capable of anything we set our minds to.” (Lewis Howes, New York Times best-selling author of The School of Greatness)

“What fascinates me most about Wim Hof's method is the potential application for athletes.... [T]he science in this book shows that we can all amplify our recovery, maximize our pain tolerance, massively jack up energy levels and even learn to control inflammation...and it can be done without resorting to toxic drugs. In fact, the system outlined in this manual might just be the key to producing a generation of enhanced but drug-free athletes.” (Paul “Coach” Wade, author of Convict Conditioning)

Quote unquote

While the subject is interesting, the delivery is awful. The book lacks depth and and leaves you wanting more explanation of the methods. It mostly seems to be selling the idea but fails to expand and convince.

book is a bit short but enjoyable and fascinating

Everyone should learn these techniques and practice for longevity, stress relief and increased energy. The book couldve been longer but it was concise and informative.

Short and non-informative

I’m a fan of Wim Hof but this just sells his program and doesn’t actually go into any detail.
The info could’ve been written on the back of a beer coaster

Chilling!!!

Great book if you want to know more about Win Hof and how he developped his technique.
You will also learn how to apply his technique and test it for yourself.

Let down by the narration

Unfortunately, not a good delivery of the great work of Wim Hof. Contains all the information I hoped for but very tedious to listen to. I'm sure the narrator does not need say "quote, unquote" so often, and definitely does not need to quote unquote his own conversation.
The audio book has no chapters or display of progress and I couldn't bookmark or clip any points of reference. Of course, I could always buy the physical book I suppose.

got hear palpitations

the introduced method is great. however, is it medically safe ??

for me i consider myself as a healthy person...after trying wim hof method for 1 month i started getting heart palpitations ... i did echo and no issues found.
i am now taking medications after doing 24hr heart monitoring and my dr told me to stop this breathing method as it increases the adrenaline.

Could have been one paragraph

Too much fluff. The book is over two hours long but the breathing exercise and cold therapy is covered in less than five minutes, the rest is fluff.

Just listen to podcast

I was hoping to get more instruction into his method, but it fell short. The book pretty much just said the same thing Hof said on the podcast with Tim Ferriss.

No info you can't get in 5 min for free on YouTube

This book is so short it shouldn't be called a book at all. This is all covered in YouTube by Win Hof himself. So do not waste a credit or money on this.

No actual information just self inflated bragging.

Just self inflated bragging. No techniques are taught in this book. Self congratulatory piece of advertisement you pay to listen to.

Interesting introduction but poorly performed

The content of the book is interesting enough: it goes into plenty of detail about the technique and some benefits. However, for the most part it feels like blatant marketing for Wim Hof's seminars, and this is felt throughout.

The performance was also bad. There are some sections which clearly should have been edited out, and for the most part a lifeless reader.

The stories are great, but I'm sceptical.

This feels like marketing material rather than an explanation of how to follow the WHM.

Only 2 mins of the whole book is actually useful

Let me begin by saying how much Wim Hof is an absolute legend and high performance human. This book gives you a good insight of his character, achievements, and what led him to create this style of high performance mind control.
The stories in this book are inspirational, but what really lets it down is the very small amount of teaching on the actual methodology for Wim Hof technique. It spends a very small chapter telling you how to breathe slowly for 30 breaths then hold your breath on the last breath. It does not go into any more detail, such as how many times a day do you need to practice this for? How many weeks? The psychology behind what you may experience during the course of your breathing exercises.
I feel you can only get that type of teaching from Wim himself.
There are plenty of other audio books out there that go into more detail than this, which also give you a deeper understanding of the technique.
This is definitely worth a listen, but don’t expect to be taught anything super human, or feel like you have a real blue print to run a marathon, topless and in sandals across the arctic circle.

a huge insight into the Wim Hoff method.

after following Wim Hoff for a few months and participating in his programme, this book really explains the health benefits of experiencing cold and breath control. certainly worth a read to increase your knowledge of this subject. will be sticking with the exercises.

a bit pseudosciencey at times

strayed into pseudoscience and speculation at times, but other than that it is somewhat interesting as a book.

the technique itself though, I believe is very worthwhile
