The MC Lord Grey was so straight in the beginning he was starting to really annoy me fortunately he does a turn about just in time 😁

overall good story premise.. but honestly I found it hard to stay focused on what was being said.. maybe a bit slow. but do like this author and narrator was excellent ☺️

I enjoyed the story and the narration was fine. There was a good mix of characters and situations to keep me listening intently. I liked the suitability of love interests though The only virgin in this story were in the Gothic romances the Clifford ladies indulged in. A clever tie-in that I suspect explains the series title which I am invested in exploring! I did feel part of the ending wasn't justly concluded so perhaps there might be appropriate comeuppance in one of the impending stories (?) . Because of this I wish I could've give. an overall of 4.5stars as I do recommend this book.

The idea of this story was quite good however the narrator was so so and some of the dialogue seemed to be … not sure of the right words to use… juvenile? obvious? unnecessary?. Would not recommend it as a good read.

This is one wild ride and in real life I definitely wouldn’t be involved in the hijinks the heroine managed to get up to. No matter what disguise she was wearing she managed to move forward. Back in that era times were tough for the have nots and it was interesting to see how she managed to survive. Of course having an interesting hero was a bonus too.

When enthralled in a novel one takes on the character of the heroine.
