Critic Reviews

"Frightening, sensual.... Anne Rice will live on through the ages of literature.... To read her is to become giddy as if spinning through the mind of time, to become lightheaded as if our blood is slowly being drained away." ( San Francisco Chronicle)

I read most of the Anne Rice books in my teens and twenties, now in my forties I am revisiting them through audio book. Bravo this book was a powerful performance by writer, narrator, and Lestat!

Amazing performance

Great narration - yes the voice seems way older than it should be for Lestat, it suits Marius much better, but the narration is excellent nevertheless.
This is a great way into understanding more about Lestat, his views of the world and why he is how he is. Loved it

anne rices follow up is not as exciting and a little more long winded. while i found interview to be timless; plenty of the references in lestat seem dated, the ideas not as enthralling with my latest re listen.

There was a chapter or two where the narrator regained a less affected and odd voice for what is meant to be a man in his early 20s, but even then the caricature of a rasping, ancient ghoul aren’t far off. Every line delivered in a theatrical loud whisper. Bring back Frank Muller’s narration, Audible.
