About this listen

Random House presents the audiobook edition of The Truth of Melody Browne, by Lisa Jewell.

Melody Browne can remember nothing before her ninth birthday. Now in her early 30s, Melody lives in the middle of London with her 17-year-old son. She hasn’t seen her parents since she left home at 15, but Melody doesn't mind. She’s better off on her own.

And then fragments of her past start to come back. At first her memories mean nothing to her, but slowly, day by day, she begins to piece together the real story of her childhood.

But with every mystery she solves, another one materialises; with every question she answers, another appears. And Melody begins to wonder if she'll ever know the truth about her past....

I just can’t seem to get enough of Lisa Jewel and her storytelling. Whilst this wasn’t a favorite, it was definitely still a great read.

Another Great Read by Lisa

The story was interesting enough with lots being revealed as the book unravels. The thing that marred the whole thing and ending for me was how spectacularly cruely the adoptive parents were portrayed.

Good and not so good

I really thought for a while that I would give up but in the end it was a surprising saga with a well deserved ending!

Hard to stop listening to! Compelling characters, lots of up and down feelings, in a good way - would recommend.

This has been my favourite story written by Lisa, I have read five of her books so far and this one was excellent!

Fantastic read.

I enjoyed the telling of the story over two timelines and thought it added more depth to the characters. I eagerly listened to the story and though it was sad I was satisfied with the ending.

Two timeliness worked well to add mystery

I loved it, as I have with all of Lisa Jewell’s books that I’ve read. I really got into it and finished it within 5 days. If you’re a fan of Lisa Jewell’s books, you’ll love this one too

Another jewel from Lisa Jewell

I should have read the description more thoroughly. I have listened to several of Lisa Jewell's books, and I assumed this would be a similar theme. It is not. The best description is 'coming of age'. I got halfway through the book and gave up. Thoroughly boring. My fault for not reviewing the description.

Coming of Age - Not Suspense
