And she never dreamed that she would have to enter into an outrageous magical charade to save her younger sisters' futures. However, even the most brilliant scholars of 1817 England still haven't ferreted out all the lurking secrets of rediscovered dragonkind.

Started with intrigue and fizzled
Normally find this style of novelisation gripping but struggled from chapter 5 onwards. it slows and The narrator is too softly spoken and breathy at times. I found her characterisations distracting at times making it difficult for me to maintain interest.

Decent story
Starts out in an interesting manner. The middle drags a bit. lots of descriptions of food. Political intrigue is interesting if a little slow paced.
The narration is good, kept me hooked.
Not the kind of story that kept me up late wanting to know what happens next but a pleasant way to pass the time.
