  • Summary

  • Please note: contains strong language and adult content.

It’s 2041. The Earth is under the control of the benevolent ‘Corporation’ and time travel is not only possible but affordable for the common worker drone - sorry, person! Free with the purchase of the Timeslide 9000 machine, The Time Traveller’s Guide to Not Dying is an audio instruction manual designed to help owners choose which exciting historical moments to visit. It teaches them about where they’re going, who they will meet, and what to eat. As part of his parole agreement, Charlie Pickering anchors the guide, using his encyclopedic brain to fill us in on the places that time travel correspondents, Natasha and Toby, find themselves dispatched to. Between them, the pair of intrepid reporters storm the barricades at the French Revolution, get chatted up by JFK during the Cold War, and tried as a witch at Salem. Along the way, they try really hard to not get killed.

Written by Charlie Pickering, James Colley, Rob Hunter and Cait Johnson. Produced by Guesswork Television.

Performed by Charlie Pickering, Frank Woodley, Claire Hooper, Aleisha McCormack, Damien Fotiou, Odette Joannidis, Adam Crouch, Wendy Bos, Tony Briggs, Danny McGinlay, Xavier Michaelides and Karla Arnall.

Funny and Ghastly

A funny look at how horrible life has been through history. Excellent production. Really fun to listen along to. Filled with interesting tidbits you never knew. I'm now reading about Macassan traders.

A bit boring

Found it a bit kiddish and boring to listen to. Maybe good for very young people or children interested in history.

So Much Fun ☺️

Thoroughly enjoyed this series - I hope a second one will be made. Charlie and the team did a great job of mixing light hearted silly fun, dark humour and history.

Authentically Australian Historical Comedic SciFi

The entire guide is directly sponsored by a Corporation that funnily enough we're all fairly familiar with.

I never thought I'd listen to the literal death of one of my favourite comedians so many times.

Pickering's writing and performance offer a solid parody of himself, which works surprisingly well.

The shining star of the series is definitely the final episode; I'd listen to an entire season based solely on similar content.

Great idea but poorly delivered

Great idea but poorly delivered with lame aussie humour of aloof smart ass females thinking that mentioning how men are mostly mysogynistic twits most of the time during the salam trials was a funny twist but it totally ruined whatever spooky or interesting experience you could of engaged in by traveling back to that time.
