'Once in a while I read a series that reminds me of just why I love enemies to lovers, slow burn, and morally grey characters so much. Gods and Monsters is that series. This is perfection. Amber Nicole's Dianna is the FMC of my soul' NISHA J. TULI

Don't miss this second addictive instalment in the Gods & Monsters series from BookTok sensation, Amber V. Nicole!

WHERE THERE ARE GODS, THERE ARE ALSO MONSTERS . . .

When I burn this world to embers, and you paint me as the villain, remember,
I really did try to be good . . . once.

Dianna is hellbent on revenge. As the last shred of her humanity is ripped from her, she decides to embrace her monstrous side and set the worlds alight.

Samkiel alone refuses to believe that she has become the monster that everyone else sees, and he'll do anything in his power to save her from herself, even if it means losing her.

With every realm now at risk from Kaden's army, and a myriad of new threats on the horizon, Samkiel can't afford to let his guard down. And as Dianna's thirst for blood only increases, he is running out of time to save them both . . .

Don't miss the first in the series, The Book of Azrael, and make sure to check out The Dawn of the Cursed Queen, and The Wrath of the Fallen-all out now in stunning paperbacks!

'Amber's series breaks the rules in the best way. Her main character is strong, capable, and unapologetically powerful. There is no damsel here. This story is filled with fast-paced action, an in-depth world, and a romance that goes from simmer to boil. If you like romantasy, read this!' RAVEN KENNEDY

'A wicked ride from beginning to heart shattering end. Leaving me literally screaming for more. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get more our morally corrupt heroine who you can't help but root for, along with the giggle inducing banter between her and the heroic god Samkiel' HANNAH NICOLE MAERHER

It is always a massive relief when a heavy romantasy sequel jumps straight back into the fray, and The Throne of Broken Gods does exactly that. Picking up right where the devastating cliffhanger left off, it wastes no time plunging you back into the chaos.

The Highs:
The first 50% of this book is an absolute rollercoaster of action. The character dynamics are a major highlight this time around. Samkiel's development from a stringent, tightly-wound guy to someone who is finally letting loose (especially with his language!) is so satisfying to read. He is genuinely hilarious throughout the book, bringing some much-needed levity to the heavy atmosphere.

The Gripes:
That said, the book struggles significantly with its structure and pacing. Given everything that happens in the first half, the page count feels very long. Right around the 50% mark, the heavy action drops off, and the story slows down to a crawl.
There are also a few formatting and editing choices that make the narrative a bit hard to follow. The time jumps are particularly jarring—the text will state "one month later," but then slip straight into an unmarked flashback, pulling you right out of the story.
Additionally, the angst between the main duo falls into a frustrating loop. It gets highly repetitive having Samkiel reminisce about Dianna in almost every single chapter, while Dianna constantly insists "it didn't mean anything" (Chapter 12 being a prime offender of this endless cycle).

The Verdict:
Despite the structural gripes and the dragging second half, the book still manages to pull off an incredible shock factor. If you can push through the slower pacing, the twist at Chapter 82 comes entirely out of left field and completely reignites the story!

Love this series and live the reader!! She is amazing

This book could have been 10 hrs less. I am not sure why the same things kept being reiterated about her feelings etc, we got it the first time. the world is still great and I'm probably going to read the next one. I do hope it is a bit more fast paced though.

very long winded, I do like the story though

Book 1 I had as a graphic audio,it was so so so good . I was excited to continue the story however the next 2 books are not graphic audio and there doesn't seem to be a plan to make them.
The voice actor just isnt a good match ,she really lets down the book.I am so slow to go through with it because of this.
consistency matters.

the story itself was amazing
