About this listen

After surviving the last great war, Moon Elf Ezekiel Graystone wanders the war-torn remains of Terrial in search of his lost brother. Along the way, he crosses paths with Davis - a young boy threatened by the malevolent church that serves the demon god king. As he tries to protect Davis, Ezekiel must confront the harsh reality of a world dominated by evil, where the wicked reign supreme and the innocent suffer. With the help of old companions and new allies, they must fight back against the church to thwart its twisted designs. Yet even as they battle, the looming presence of Tal'Dar and his forces threatens to destroy all.

The Summoner: Echoes of the Fallen is a thrilling dark fantasy exploring the consequences of what happens after evil triumphs.

this book will scratch that classic rpg-like adventure story. While the book wears it's D&D love proudly, it has enough twists on world building to be uniquely its own.

The first third was a bit slow and trying to do world building ground work. The final third was fast paced and i found myself just wanting to read 1 more chapter. There is a decent mystery being set up and while the story can be a bit linear at times, the characters are well fleshed out and with interesting dynamics.

For a first time author/narrator the voice acting was well done but occasionally there was a few pronunciations that took me out of it.

overall a solid tale that sets up a bigger world and i enjoyed a return to a more classic adventuring style without the grim dark or gritty realism that has been my daily fare.

A good time
