Neil Oliver is master storyteller and as a voice so captivating that it takes you to the stories he is telling.
The last chapter touched my heart, the way he spoke about his children made me cry.

An insightful and thought-provoking book. I chose this book specifically because it is read by the author, Neil Oliver. I enjoy watching his programs on television, his thick Scottish accent always adds so much more depth to the history he's presenting. This book is no different. I was particularly moved by his reading of Sullivan Ballou's letter to his wife in chapter 81. Each chapter is, on average, about 5 minutes long and has nothing to do with the previous or following, making them great to listen to anytime you have a free moment. These 100 Moments that Neil has chosen are a little more obscure than you might normally come across and honestly, I still would have listened if it had been called 1000 Moments. Get this book, you won't be disappointed.
