Publisher's Summary

Toward the end of the Renaissance period, John Dee and Edward Kelly famously engaged in experiments with alchemy, crystal balls, and conversations with otherworldly entities during this important chapter of real occult and magical history. Here Adams explores the life of Dee and his relationship with Kelly, regarding these experiments. He offers examples of the sorts of dialogue that occurred, which Dee dutifully recorded for the sake of posterity. Adams also documents the tragic final years of the lives of both men, after they went their separate ways.

John Dee by Davenport Adams

Awful book, full of flawed erroneous conclusions by Davenport Adams, craptacular scholarship, revealing a poor knowledge of his subject matter, not to mention magick & the supernatural! Rather asinine conclusions IMO. On the one hand he acknowledges Dee's staggering intellect and scholarly acumen, on the other he concludes he was duped by Edward Kelly for his credulity. You can't have it both ways! At the height of Adam's stupidity he assumes there is nothing supernatural happening & the Dr. Dee must be a gullible fool with a vivid imagination, who is fooled by the nave Kelly. For Adams to claim in retrospect he can assess Dee's, naive credulity is the absolute height of idiotic stupidity! Were Dr. John Dee dug up and necromantically resurrected in 2018, he would still be the most intelligent man alive no contest! How Adam's who doesn't amount, to a pimple on Dee's bum, can make such dumb assertions about Dee's foolishness based on his own inept assertions of having no magical spiritual world view. Based on ie., his own blind deaf and dumbness... The book is good to use if you run outta toilet paper. To this day in 2018, Dee's enochian language baffles linguists, no to mention the complexity of his tables and ciphers.
